I have a couple of things I like, one being creative writing and the other music. So thought I'd start a thread of songs from the past, give them a bit of a rewrite and see how it goes. Feel free to do similar, or make a comment or two. |

First offering: Ralph Mc Tell's "Streets of London" Have you seen the MK With closed-down emotion Checking their email, In the hope of good news? In their eyes you see no pride Fingers on the keyboard Yesterday's hurt is no longer news So how can they tell us they don‘t know, And say our lives should be just fine? Let me take you by the hand and lead you through what was our childhood I'll show you something to make you change your mind Have you seen the MK Who eats then loses each meal Self destructing and not knowing why? She's no time for talking, In her mind she won’t stop walking Flushing her guilt with that just eaten pie. Chorus In the internet cafe At a quarter past eleven, Same MK is sitting there on his own Looking at the world Over the rim of his tea-cup, Each tea last an hour Then he wanders home alone Chorus And have you seen the MK Dismissed as nuts by the mission Memory all to vivid The guilt that they carry. In another winter city, The rain cries a little pity For one more forgotten MK And a mission that doesn't care |

Ha, ha I'll have a go at most things, but no National Anthems, we don't want an international incident. Best songs are ones that we all know and can hum or sing along to. |

I actually DID look. I don't pass up anything here. We are obligated to each other----to look/to cry/to laugh/to feel our guts wrench/to feel joy at each person's progress. I mean that's how I feel. And thanks, Aussie, for that wonderful perspective. It helps. |

When I first I joined Fanda Eagles, the initial emotion was relief at not being alone, but joining this was anger that I'd been lied to for decades. I played this song over and over, rather loudly. I don't play it so much now, prefering something a little more gentle. But I'd like to dedicate this rewrite of Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" to those paedophiles who's names are on the list and those who should be. Ooh, let's go MK walks warily down the street With the brim pulled way down low Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet Carryin a load only he can know Are you ready, hey, are you ready for this Are you hangin' on the edge of your seat One day over the edge he does tip Never again to be beat - yeah Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust And another one gone and another one gone Another one bites the dust, eh Hey, will your name be there too Another one bites the dust How do you think I'm getting along Without you now you’ve gone You took me for everything that I had And kicked me out on my own Are you happy ? Are you satisfied ? How long can you stand the heat One day over the edge he does tip Never again to be beat Look out Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust And another one gone and another one gone Another one bites the dust, eh Hey, will your name be there too Another one bites the dust Hey Oh take it Bites the dust - bite the dust hey Hey Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust, ow Another one bites the dust, hey hey Another one bites the dust, heeey Ooh show down There are plenty of ways that you can hurt an MK And bring him to the ground You can beat him You can cheat him You can treat him bad and leave him When he's down, yeah But I'm ready, yes I'm ready for you I'm standing on my own two feet Never again my soul you’ll rip Or my mind you’ll ever beat Oh yeah Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust And another one gone and another one gone Another one bites the dust, yeah Hey, I'm gonna get you too Another one bites the dust Shoot out Hey, alright |

That is a powerful cry. And we understand where it comes from! Hope it will help some others. SING IT LOUD. Yeah. LOUD! |
