Do the type of sex offenders that end up in missions actually read the bible seriously anyway? Is the bible just like the mission was, a vehicle to get what they want and they were just going through the religous motions, saying the right stuff to make a facade that no one would suspect them doing their evil behind.
I don't know, so hence I raise it.

I grew up with a mantra every day of my childhood "You must be in the word", over and over and over. And it went on into adulthood. Somehow everything would be all right if I read "the word". Other missionaries weren't as good as my mantra spitting father, because they were not "in the word". No one was as good as he, because he was "in the word" for hours everyday. He didn't work, he didn't spend time with people he should have and he found obscure reasons for doing strange things because he was "in the word".
And then he said he doesn't care about all the MKs who were abused, even the ones very close to him and I saw my father for what he really is, A FAKE. Just like the sex abusers, a Big Huge FAKE. In his statements that he doesn't care and his staunch defense of the indefensible he has undone any good he ever did and as I looked back on some of the weird things that he has done, I realised that what I had suspected for sometime was true.

And then I found the Bible my father gave me when I left home and put it in a charity bin. Because for me it had become a reminder of something I want to leave behind.

The mantras that were preached at us had no depth.

No real essence.

Saying the right thing at the right time but doing it all wrong.

Lots of things are going to get shaken up.

In one of the other forums someone mentioned the fund NTM has for abused MKs. May I suggest the the NTM MKs find out who wants to go and puts up a petition on this site and else were to demand that their expenses to attend the conference be paid by that fund.

I know may MKs had done well financially, but there are hundreds of other because they have been trying to fight the results of abuse have lacked the ability to to make a living above getting by. NTM has great assets and their leaders seem to go where they want and the fund has been set up to help abused MKs go for it. What better place for MKs to gather than at a conference set up to help abused MKs and held by a third party not NTM.

Find out how much NTM really wants to help.......

If you are a NTM MK apply to NTM for funds to pay for travel, hotel, meals and registration. They have funds to help MKs who have been abused to find help. The conference would definitely be a help. I don't know if they will give you anything but try, you are worth it.
