It is getting rather interesting down here with the Australian Govt Inquiry. Last week the Hillsong "empire" has been before the commission:

as this is a large expanding group, who's music is apparently well used.

Reading through the evidence, it sounds rather familiar. No contacting the police, the abuse known about . . .

It is time! Let the whole world know that it is possible to be modern-day hypocrites, just like the merchants in the Temple, making money off of gullible people who sincerely want to worship God!

Get out the whips and start turning over their tables! Drive them out into the open where all can see!

I really feel quite blindsided by this Hillsong news.

I don't do bricks and mortar Church for many a reason (to much to go into here) but I do often watch church on TV. Brian Houston is regularly on TV here as are a few other well known Australian and Kiwi pastors.

Don't know why I am so shocked - how many times has this criminal behaviour come to light now? NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. The usual clap-trap will occur and members of the church will white-wash the story to make it palatable so they don't have to think about it. Why, soon someone will be delivering a sermon about how their church is being persecuted just like the good word says the bride of Christ will be. Ah - I could write the script for them (but I think they have a good head start on me).

I will not be able to see him on TV or hear that distinctive voice again without feeling ill and quite despondent about the blind state of the Church here. It just grates that he really thinks he did nothing wrong in not reporting a criminal (repeat offender) pedophile to police. In my mind he should be charged with perverting the course of justice. True justice that is - as opposed to Hillsong justice (which included a nice pension for the pedophile in case you didn't know).

Meanwhile the pedophile who got away with it on earth has met his maker.
