This one is titled "An Abuse Survivor's Prayer to Jesus". I am not copying it here, our of respect for those survivors who do not pray to Jesus. I understand. I really do. And I would never shove prayer, or Jesus, in your face.

But for those who do pray, and who do occasionally feel Jesus, and yet (like me) have many hard questions with no answers, here is a prayer from another survivor who understands.

My Dear Dear Raz,

Your kind consideration for the feelings of an Aging Agnostic are much appreciated. However even though I rarely pray myself, I have no objection to prayers being posted. To do so would be hypocritical, after all the readership meter would indicate that many read my point of view and opinions and some even kindly express kind sentiments about the ramblings .

The story in the article also happened very close to our family when I was a child. It still staggers me that it did and that those who knew did nothing to help and even today, despite a jail term, there are those who still try and cover stories like this up.
But then that is why we are here, because only by exposing the coverups, do we have any chance of making sure this stops!

And on that note, this is something we should all fervently be praying for (Agnostics included), the end to the criminal abuse of innocent children.

And here's an early "Amen", Bemused, as I will not be on line when it is Sunday Downunder.

Thought I might wander about in the forests on Sunday. While there I will probably ponder how such beauty was created (my Evolutionary views are Atheist) and be grateful that there is so much of it to enjoy, so close to the front door. Canine Bemused will come for the tramp, he loves having so many trees about .

Abuse is abuse and really has nothing to do with one's religious views. All cultures and religious groups have abuse. Bemused it doesn't matter that you are Agnostic you fight abuse that is what is important. The abuse becomes more hideous when it hides behind religions that claims to love and care about others. There are many ways people handle their past abuse, I will never criticize their path. In the above article the thing that stands out to me is our need for others to walk with us who have also been abused. Just as we can't imagine growing up without abuse those who were treated with love and respect can not identify with our path even when they give us 100% support. Survivors need each other. Those who started and those who have joined this site are those who are walking along side many victims. Thank you.

Bemused by the way you can't use the word aging until you catch up with me and I am not there yet.

Atheists, Agnostics, Protestants, Catholics, Democrats, Republicans, Communists, Greens, Male, Female, Gay, Lesbian, Introverts, Extroverts, Tall, Short, Thin, Obese, Tribers, Monotheists, Polytheists, Nurses, Teachers, Writers, Poets, Medicated, Tee-Totalers, Alcoholics, Drivers, Pilots, Comedians, Politicians and anyone not mentioned, we all have the ability to do our bit to end Child Abuse, wherever it be.

It's just a matter of conscience and motivation.

Boz Tchividjian's latest blog post is specifically about MK abuse. He has even included a link within his post to the Fanda investigation report.

Increased awareness equals increased pressure on mission organizations to do the right thing. I hope they are listening.

Oh somehow I doubt there is much listening going on, well not to the insignificant victims of missions abuse.

I had an interesting exchange with the editor of a cult listing website yesterday. The response went along these lines, as long as an organisation has stated beliefs that are in line with accepted guidelines, accounts of sexual abuse, although regrettable are not an indication of a group being a cult. In other words, as long as a group says the right words, their actions can be excused. And that pretty much sums up the case, at the end of the day the words are hollow because their are no actions (like faith without works ).

If you go to the previous blog of Boz's, you'll see the comments at the end are exchanges and accounts between MKs, I think this has prompted the latest excellent blog. An indication that at least someone is listening.
