I think I've had enough moroseness for this week--something's are becoming more clear:

1) we need to work smart and hard

2) there are victims still trying to get up the nerve to talk

3) we need concerted effort, concentrated pockets of advocates, and clarity

4) there may be a time when we have to travel to help each out
(In light of this, a good way to think of it, is to be wise with money and time)

5) big virtual hugs to you all who get me thru black nights

It looks like we have a major new development.

It would appear, from this, that the Jane Doe lawsuit against NTM is going to a jury trial!

Can any of our legal experts clarify this? I don't know what a case management conference means.

I am not a legal expert, but these verses from the Bible keep swirling around in my head:

Matthew 5:25-26
New International Version (NIV)

25 “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. 26 Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

Are jury trials held open to the public and media (who are generally given guideline in cases of sex abuse, such as not reporting the names of victims)?
They are down here, which would not bode well for any large organisation that finds itself in court for such charges.

Your Bible quotation is apt, alas I think the matter has gone well beyond that.

This is from one of our old friends, who has legal expertise:

Case management likely refers to the court asking the parties whether all discovery motions have been filed and what witnesses will be called etc....the docket sheet (what you listed) indicates that unless the parties intend to settle that this case will, in fact, go to a scheduled 4 day trial.
