I've been thinking about this issue of self-evaluation...I wonder if the more healthy the individual/organization in the first place, the more effective and objective the self-evaluation? And then such a healthy individual/organization would therefore be more open to outside evaluation as part of the self-evaluation process because there would be little defensiveness and much transparency...there would be little motivation to deny the reality of the situation. So maybe the real issue is overall 'health' in all areas or something like that...lack of objective self-evaluation is more of a symptom of general unhealthiness? Not sure where I'm going with this exactly, just a thought I had...

Self evaluation is always necessary. As a food service manager I was always evaluating. Does the food look good, does it taste good, these evaluations for the guests. Is the food safe? This evaluation because I don't want any of my guests to get sick. So when the food inspector comes I welcomed her. Could she find ways I could make my food safer. If you are doing a good self evaluation you will welcome an outside evaluation to help you become better. I knew of some who wanted to get by with unsafe food management practices they were afraid of the inspectors. I made friends of all my inspectors I would even ask them about things they had not noticed to be sure I was safe. But if a food service place is too bad the inspector closes it down on the spot. The the food service place has to go through all kinds of inspections to be able to reopen.

Many missions would benefit from being shut down so that they could reorganize, fire the bad dishwasher who left dirty dishes and people got salmonella. Hire a new dishwasher and train him to do dishes safely. While shut down ask the inspector to come in and check for other faults that could hurt the business. When you want your mission to benefit those you are trying to reach you must let in the outside independent inspector. Outside inspectors could make a mission much more healthy.

This news piece on Scott Kennell talks about the two ongoing lawsuits we've been following here.

According to this reporter, NTM lawyers will be arguing for the dismissal of Jane Doe 25's lawsuit next week.

DISMISSED? If NTM cares like they say they do and some people seem to defend them to the end why would you dismiss a lawsuit bearing the truth? This is SHAMEFUL! Aussie is right, this has to be considered a CULT! NTM knows beyond a shadow of a doubt they are GUILTY! Enough is enough but like my husband says, "They have time on their hands and that is what this is all about!" I am so cranky! Full stop.
