Not being well versed in the legal system of a foreign jurisdiction, I'm trying to get my head round this one.
So from what I read, the Plantiff (i.e. the victim) has asked the court/judge to get the other side (in this case NTM) to provide more infomation because they suspect that facts and details are being hidden. Am I sort of close?

So if the case goes to court, does a Bible get sworn on? Just that would be an interesting scenario and one I've encountered. Just in my case I thought it best if I not start swearing on a Bible, but just promise to tell the truth, which is of course the correct and moral thing to do.

Ironic really, I spent a childhood being told that Jesus had come to set us all free from the complicated legal mess of the old testament and the wicked ways of the world. And yet those that told me thus are now spending how much in legal fees and time to defend what I was told was an abomination to Jesus. Doesn't add up, the only thing that adds up is the cost on human lives and families who got unwittingly caught up in this sad history.

Some good is coming out of it.

NTM has very little on their website now regarding the investigations and lawsuits. You have to search under Historic Abuse. There is nothing about 2 lawsuits pending which to me is not right.

The first lawsuit, filed by Jane Doe 7, has now been settled.

Perhaps a lesson from the Catholic church would be apt. They seem to be doing much better at confronting their shocking past and the pressure is on to elect a Pope who will show real leadership on the child abuse issue.

Meanwhile Downunder, The Australian Royal Commission of Inquiry into Child Abuse in Insitutions has real teeth, there will be no hiding down here and the spill on effect could become very interesting.
