Are we all on our knees for the Belgium vs USA game?

Belgium isn't well known for its soccer prowess, so might be a chance.

What confuses many of us is how USA could lose a game to Germany and yet still remain in the contest.

Hmm .... this also reminds me of something/someone else. Someone who loses but still thinks they're winning ....

Ah ha. I am glad you asked this question. The play off round was in groups of four. So to get to the next round a team only had to be better than two others in the group. So it is possible to loose a game and still go through. However there is an advantage in being the top team in a group, because the opponent in the next round will be the weaker team from another group.

"Welcome to the football game thing. We seem to have two groups of adult men who are wearing different color shirts and are intent on kicking a round thing around. There is a strange man in the field to and the other men seem to be witnessing to him, but he keeps blowing his whistle and pulling yellow cards out of his pocket.
Wait, there has been a development, the ball has been kicked at some upright sticks at one of end of the field and the crowd is going really wild. Funny thing there is some sticks that look the same at the other end, with a man standing there doing nothing. He must be a council representative.
Not much happening really, so back to the studio . . . "
