Very good letter Bemused. Time NTM started to respect their staff they are no better than the worse commercial company out there. What if they divided all the money that comes equally between every one including those at the top.

NTM has skilfully change the argument from an organizational failure to focusing on the specific abuser. Case in point, the last with Gary Earl. It is important that those in leadership who were aware and chose to leave him in his position, and continue to have contact with other kids and continue placing Lori in fear be reprimanded publicly or fired. The perp is guilty, but is NOT the ONLY guilty party!

Very much so. NTM went back on it's promise to expel and turn in all future offenders. They found Gary Earl guilty as charged themselves, then let him be for over 7 years, until the pressure was applied.

Cut the Crap: Confidential means Confidential
I am not surprised that a NTM missionary would leak confidential communication to the outside world. It seems like there is always someone who feels justified in breaking the rules.

My job here at Sanford is an important link in reaching the unreached tribes of the world, as is the jobs of every single person here. We are doing all we can to reach these people for the Lord, but we are not ignoring former MKs.

The recent email specifically said that it was NOT to be shared with outsiders, people who are not part of our NTM family. I was not entirely pleased with the content, either. But I did not leak it to those who only have an axe to grind with NTM. I have been proactive in talking to the Executive Board and letting them know how I feel about it. They are the ones who can accomplish things and get the abuse back on track.

If you are in NTM and are not happy with things the leadership has done, just tell them. I know several of the new men on the Executive Board and they are new and not old like some of the cracked up ideas of the past. No organization is perfect and it is fine to disagree. But, if you can't handle it, just leave. There is no reason to be unethical and not keep confidential emails confidential. That is just plain wrong plain and simple.

I guess it is OK to tell you that we know that this email was not sent to G*** L*** using our @ntm.org servers or addresses. We, like all employers, are allowed to monitor emails from our own addresses. These addresses are for our own members only and should not be used to share confidential information or access porn accounts.

Whomever did this had to copy and paste confidential information from their NTM email address into a different email account and purposely send it. This was no accident. It was premediated conspiracy to make the mission look bad. It had nothing to do with making things better, helping the victims, or treating Gary Earl with the consideration due his long years of service.

Let's cut the crap and keep confidential things confidential.

Paul it would be wonderful to cut the crap. I am surprised that a NTM personal would use such language. But I do think that you are on the wrong side. To use your word NTM is the one that handed out crap to hundreds of MKs. You claim they are bitter, unforgiving and angry sounds to me like you are describing yourself. I know you will not allow this to be on your blog. But people like you are the reason so many people leave the church and hate God. I am glad that my God loves me and even you unconditionally.

I am getting a lot of comments but it is late and I am doing this on my own time not NTM's.

I will be back later tomorrow and moderate more insightful comments. But, I will NOT be posting any comments that are sinful and do not reflect God's Word and best practice standards.

I want to quote myself from the very first entry on this blog:

This blog is an attempt at a serious convo about New Tribes Mission and the reputed abuse of children in the care of their employees many years ago when these things were not very well understood. The only website that really deals with this issue is the Fanda Eagles, and very few NTM employees have ever posted there. One brother in Christ, who is also an employee of NTM, has posted there a couple of times in his official capacity, sometimes straying off into personal opinions, but always being ridiculed, insulted and having his words distorted as thanks for his efforts. Another person, a sister who is married to an employee of New Tribes Mission but doesn't really have a job of her own, has posted on the Fanda Eagles web site several times and tried to be their friend but has not really managed to influence them for good. In short, there is no good reason for anyone who is fair minded and serious to post any comments anywhere on that website. It is dominated by those who are bitter, unforgiving and angry. Is this guy real? Because he seems like such an ass, that it's rather unbelievable the drivel . . .

Given that the name is "Paul Flaming" (as opposed to the revered Paul Fleming, I suspect someone is attempting to stir the pot and not particularly contribute anything useful towards any resolution of issues.
They do have a bit of a working knowledge of NTM computer systems, so my guess it is coming from the IT department, but that is only a guess.

Bring back the Red Barron I say, at least that was cleverly written As for Paul Flaming, like every blogger or poster, it's a matter of taste and personal viewpoint as to whether his musings are of any value.

Most writers who don't have their ego stroked every so often eventually go away.

Lucky I am so humble, otherwise I would be long gone but it looks like FE is stuck with me for a while yet.
