The key to the solution may well be not where we expect. It may well come from (shock horror) the "secular" world, looking over the fence at the "Christian" world and pointing out that "we" are hypocrites and need to get our side of the fence in order. Far to much pious mud has been flung from this side of the fence for far to long and now the other side has seen what only a few of us dared open our eyes to, that this side of the fence is a disgraceful mess of child abuse, covered by the Rugs of Righteousness and Piousness.

To our "non-christian" friends and associates, please point out the mess, because on this side of the fence there are many "thick" heads that the message is not getting through to and we desperately need your help, so that once and for all we can start to rid all the world of this awful crime of child abuse.

(Oh and in case anyone is wondering, for the above post, Bemused has lumped himself on the "Christian" side of the fence, because he is not comfortable to be sitting on the fence on this issue, despite his status as a Sympathetic Agnostic placing him in the middle ground of theology and faith.)

I knew Chris and he was a good man. He taught us kids how to light fires safely when we were in Australia and then he was in PNG at the same time.

I finally got the time to listen to this audio. Boz Tchividjian being interviewed on Janet Mefford's radio show.

Boz is articulate and passionate. I encourage you to listen to this 20-minute interview in which Boz explains his claim that the Protestant church's response to abuse is even worse than the response of the Roman Catholic church has been.

Around minute 13 he speaks specifically about rampant, opportunistic child abuse in overseas missions, and his disappointment in the dismal response of mission organizations, who are more concerned about maintaining their ministry than they are about protecting children.

Boz is fighting for us, MKs! I admire this courageous man so very much!
