Oh I couldn't write to Mr Larry
I'm just a humble Kiwi Bird
And from the floor of the forest
My voice could not be heard

But Raz, the elegant Eagle
Now she soars in places high
When she speaks others listen
(Moan, groan and sigh)

Anyway Mr Larry is probably far to busy
To a lowly Kiwi send reply
So I'll stick to writing to lesser beings
Who in past have heard my squeaky cry

Dear President Obama
Thank you for your words I did receive
So much I appreciate your time
In writing to me the humble and naive

While Pastors and religious leaders
Have been to busy to heed my cry
You took a moment of your time
And that makes you my Hero Guy

Note of explanation. President Obama actually did reply to the e-mail I sent him as did some other very high ranking people. That letter will one day be framed and placed in my office (when I get an office). I have written many many e-mails that have not been replied too, but when probably the most important man on the planet takes the time to have a reply sent to someone who can never even vote for him, it is a tremendous boost to the confidence that sometimes real people do take note.
Whatever we may personally think of a politicians leanings, background or policy, if they take the time to read and reply they are better humans than those who religiously hit the delete button and pray fervently that we will just give up and go away.
