Was having a conversation with the learned Mrs Bemused, while watching the Olympics last night.
We were wondering if anyone has had their parents view the video "All God's Children" and if so what their reaction was to it?

For my parents it would be far to traumatic to watch something so close to home. The heartache of the past, their treatment and the terrible loss would just be too much. I very much doubt they would ever be willing to go there.

I suspect my father would watch the DVD and then declare that of course such things happened in that mission, because they were not NTM, where of course he still thinks nothing really bad ever happened!

I used to think my father was brainwashed, but I think he was to clever for that, he was using NTM and its style of operating to fit around what he wanted to do. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed by my father's actions, we are not similar and I think by speaking out against him and his cronies I in someway ease my conscience for the actions he has taken. On the other hand, if I stayed silent, I'd have a hard time living within the bounds of my own conscience, therefore I leave myself no option.

How's the Olympics going? You know, big sports meet when nations from all continents join together in the spirit of sporting harmony, forgetting their differences and puruse physical prowess.

Probably not headlines anywhere else, but just thought I'd point out NZ has 3 medals so far. No no, not blowing the patriotic trumpet, just wanted to point out it is possible to achieve things by sitting on ones backside.

Yes, NZ must be the only country which gets medals for sitting down. One on top of a horse and the other two in boats .

Meanwhile in the "NTM we will resolve this sometime marathon", wonder if medals can be won for sitting down?

Nope, no medals for sitting on your behind when one needs to be reaching out to survivors of sexual abuse.

Many thanks for your kind good wishes. Just a note that the Kiwis will be meeting the U.S.A. in womens soccer tomorrow. So for a brief period of time we may find ourselves backing different teams .

Congratulations, Bemused on the Kiwi golds. Had I been aware that one could win gold sitting on one`s posterior I would have a drawer full of gold!

I would just like to quietly point out that for a brief period of time, we have 3 golds and I believe Australia has 1. This would be like Canada having more golds than the U.S.A.

I am now beginning to believe in miracles .
