One of the advantages of being married to someone who is vastly more intellectually gifted than oneself and is capable of debating, is that we have few arguments. Namely because I can’t win a verbal contest, so on the odd occasion I dare to disagree, we agree to disagree.
We have similar elements to our upbringing, but hers was not religious is the main point of difference. I have been fortunate that she has always encouraged me to write creatively (well we met through writing) and sometime ago recommended I find a group of Mks with similar experiences.
She commented the other day how much more settled I have become over the last few months, since discovering fanda eagles and discovering that I others had been abused within the confines of NTM and then being able to exorcise the remaining demons from my life. And it has sparked her interest in this whole matter. She is appalled by the lack of contrition and also those who did not act as they ought to have. As she says, NTM says they did what they could, whereas they should have done what they should have done.
Fellow Mks we have a very powerful ally and for once I feel sorry for NTM, for I know after some years of marriage you cannot argue with, make pathetic excuses or dazzle her with religious nonsense, believe me you cannot win.
So here’s to our latest recruit (who shall remain anonymous, but is happy to be Mrs Bemused), cheers.

P.s. If you are wondering how brilliant. If you have ever flown in a 737 you will have benefited from some of the work she did with NASA on safety systems. Or if you have ever benefited from snow ploughs, she worked on guidance systems so they can operate in all sorts of weathers.

I hope being married to an MK has prepared you for the fact that NONE of us are exactly "normal"!

But we do seem to "get" each other, even those of us raised in differing continents and/or decades.

We are a motley crew here. And here, we get more support and encouragement than many of us have had in a long, long time.

The journey is long, but we ARE moving forward.

It is from an older era than what some of us experienced.
But lethal.
Times don't change.

The families in "All God's Children" plus the other families from that school, had a reunion this last year. One of my friends here in town is from that school. When I told her about the "All God's Children" segment she watched it. She knows all those kids and remembered things herself. She was apprehensive about going to the reunion because of her own memories . She went to the reunion and was truely blessed by how much it helped. Just wanted you guys to know that. They are getting help.

Bemused, are you sure about those white flags at Wall Mart? I thought I saw them slowly climbing out of their trenches with loud hailers and NTM board members following up the rear with blinkers and ear muffs on.
