NTM will never change, they do not realize that this is the new reality for them. Once the Fanda report came out their paradigm shifted and what was once covered and hidden can never be re-covered. Not understanding the shift, they are like the one cockroach that doesn't have the sense to run to safety when the light gets turned on. Truth doesn't matter, just keep cranking out the bullshit. Tell one group one thing and tell another group something else. Apparently it works for those missionaries who are aware of the lies and just keep doing their thing, apparently truth does not matter to them either. |

When missionaries and the general public wonder how this type of abuse and the prevalence of it is possible, all they have to do is look to how the leaders lie and how the missionaries respond with no outcry, no resignations, no demand for coming clean, no anger, just a willful shoving to the back of their minds with a well that was then and I can't do anything about the past anyway so pray for their pathetic souls and let me get on with my Jesus work. Missionaries, bringing truth to light and indignation with accountability is Jesus work. |

My Dear Raz, At a quick count: 634 of those are in the USA 51 are in Canada 14 are in small first world countries 29 are in the U.K. 54 are in Transition. 0 are in Australia  So that is 782 of those listed as "missionaries" are not on a field. Or 51% Now calculate of those on the field how many are in support work and how many are on furlough, medical leave, compassionate leave or back home for a quick hamburger and fries, then the figure of how many "missionaries" are actually in a tribe is rather low. It doesn't help the figures that "retired" missionaries are not given their own sub group, but I guess they are probably actively praying, so count as "missionaries". Interesting ay? |

Yes, very interesting indeed. And more than a little concerning, to me. I am the one who started the "Truth? Transparency?" thread, and I did it for a reason. Now watch this  So we have established that of the 1522 missionaries listed only 740 are on the field. However furlough accounts for 1 out of every 4 years, if I recall right so then only 592 are on the field. About 10 % are home on medical or other leave and now it is 533. Lets say half of those on the field are support workers, teachers, supply, pilots e.t.c. and now the figure is 266. There are 5 days of work per week and 2 days of weekend, so now the figure is 190. However in a 24 hour day, only 8 hours are worked. 63 Of course missionaries need holidays and conference time, so they have to come out of the tribe. They also have to relieve the support workers. So lets allow for that as being 30% of the time. 44 Not forgetting that some will be on committees and traveling to meetings or doing committee work. Lets reduce the figure to 32. Now remember that female missionaries (i.e. wives and single females) are more in a supportive role, so that leaves 12. So of the 1522, at any given moment there are 12 actually working in a tribe. Hmmmmm. There were 12 disciples. Interesting coincidence  So how many Tribers does it take to change a light bulb? The answer is 12. And how many Kiwis does it take to change a light bulb? Answer later, but cyber chocolate fish for anyone who can provide the answer. |
