There are good comments about
premature forgiveness
true repentance and
the importance of grieving for the victim as well as
others grieving with him/her and
crying for justice with them too
in the BJU Grace Report---pp 95 or so ---117.

The BJU report is so well done. On so many levels. And there are many similarities in how fundamentalist cultures respond to the uncomfortable subject of the sexual abuse of children and adolescents. The Bob Jones mentality has much in common with the New Tribes one.

A very painful document to read.

But another job well done by Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment.

The BJU response posted today made me ill.

I don't want to be around people like that anymore.

How many times do I get my hopes up only to have the same old thing, fancy words that say we will change nothing.
Then the evangelical community wonders why people leave churches, schools, and missions. They are totally blinded by their crazy idea they must protect God and therefore protect their organization.
