Yes, as long as humans exist there will always be abuse.

Unfortunately for Christians the secular world is a number of steps ahead as they at least are attempting to face the reality of abuse and put guidelines, programs in place throughout school institutions and other organizations.

They are choosing on many levels to face the truth and work towards change.

It has taken a long time for secular organizations to take their heads out of the sand and to say that bullying or abuses of any kind are not acceptable. At least they are.

Christian organisations still hide behind the Bible and trying to prevent truth and ensuing embarassment that may follow. In so many cases eg. NTM they choose to stone the victims.....only in a Christian organization will you see so many victims in hiding stone those fellow victims who speak out because years of Gods work might be damaged by truth.

Which groups are groups are "attempting" to forge change? Secular or Christian....my personal experience
tells me that children are safer in secular school than on a "Christian base", attending a "Christian school" or boarding in a "Christian dorm"........why....because Christians have not even began to face the truth about abuse/abusers amongst them......denial will feed that Christian fantasy.....it doesn't happen in our world.

And we all went to church
And we all said our prayers
And we all said hello
To the big man upstairs

And we all felt much better
And we all learnt a lot
And we all got to Monday
Then alas we forgot

And we all can't remember
And we all close our eyes
And we all have no idea
Why some kid cries and cries

And we all give thanks
And we all close our ears
And we all don't want to know
Why they're crying those tears

And we all done our duty
And we all hug each other
And we all ignore the kid
Cuz he ain't our kid or brother

And we all reached out to friends
And we all went our ways
And we all said to ourselves
That kid should mend his ways

And too sad.
Reminds me of "Little boy in the FRONT row" days on the forums.

I often sat by myself, in chapel and class. Perhaps if I showered more often. . .

No seriously, the problem is fear of the unknown and someone coming in who is different with the the rest can be seen as a novelty or a nusciance. Mine was the latter, so spent most of my teenage years in my own company. Turned out o.k. in the end, as am quite happy with my own company now.

It is now 3 weeks since I wrote to 27 Australian and 2 NZ NTMers, to inform them of the IHART investigation and asking them to contact their own and any other MKs they know.

I have received just the one reply.

WHY???

Someone once told a story about the way to discern if a person is a true neighbor (and one who will live on eternally).

He told of a sojourner who was attacked, stripped, robbed, beaten up and left for dead. Victimized, when he himself had done nothing wrong. Nothing to deserve to be wounded so terribly.

Several passersby noticed the dying man lying by the road with no ability to help himself or fix himself. The people who saw him lying there helplessly were pious, self righteous religious people. I think one of them might have even been a missionary. A mission leader of high standing.

Finally, when the victim had lost almost all hope, along came an unlikely stranger from a far off place. Maybe it was a place called New Zealand? This person did not consider himself to be religious or particularly noble. But as soon as he saw the man lying by the road bleeding and broken, his immediate response was one of compassion. He hardly thought twice about it, but just did what you'd think would come naturally to any decent human being. He went out of his way to help this person he'd never seen before. He expended time, energy and finances to see to it that the victim received the best help available.

It seemed like the obvious thing to do. He asked nothing in return. He did not consider himself a hero. He was just doing the neighborly thing.

Why do men and women who say they have given their lives to Christ, and to the cause of reaching the lost for him, not even care enough to answer an e-mail about wounded MKs?

I wonder what the one who told the story about the good Samaritan thinks of this lack of concern? I am certain that he cares about children who were molested and abused by people who claimed to be his servants.

I am certain that he cares. A lot.

The visitor meter on the front of this site reads 1,351,133.

We passed the 1 million mark almost 6 months ago, so that means in 6 months there have been over 350,000 visits. (about 2000 views a day)

What intrigues me is at what times of the day the visitor meter advances the most. It used to click over mostly during the daylight hours of mainland USA, peaking in the evening, then rapidly slowing.
However I've noticed that the meter is clicking over more in the wee hours, which leads to the deduction that there are considerable numbers of insomniacs or shift workers in the U.S., or other parts of the world are enjoying the enlightenment that is Fanda Eagles.
If my theory is right, it is the Eastern Pacific region that is enjoying this enlightenment. Now assuming that Eastern Russia, Japan, Taiwan e.t.c. are probably not participating in vast numbers, this would suggest that the South Eastern Pacific is the region of viewership, i.e. Australasia, PNG, Indonesia, The Philipines, Singapore, e.t.c.

Of course this is pure speculation, but an interesting exercise nonetheless ;) . And of course "Reaching Out" is what this thread is all about.
