O.k., we have some choices presented to us with this.

1) Support Boz, by personal message.
2) Back up Boz, with comments on the Huffington Posts comment page or sending his excellent article to other media outlets, pastors, politicians, priests . . .
3) Do nothing.

Remembering this is very much a team effort that involves many organisations and is for the protection of all children, what better cause to support.

I agree 100%. The New York Times, the Washington Post e.t.c., they all need to know about Boz's message.

So what are we going to do??????

Here am I, don't send me, send my brother, he's an Agnostic but what the hell he comes in useful for this sort of thing! All those thinking that, raise your right hand while I just reach for the chainsaw!!!!!!

Come on, lets back Boz! Or we just make a mockery of our fervent prayers for justice, because even a boozed up MK like me can figure out that the reason Boz is doing so well is because God is on his side. If we sit on our asses and do nothing, then we will have proved that we are absolutely pathetic and do not deserve the justice we so desire.

We need to get it down to the local level. Contact your local news paper and send them a link to one of the above. Tie it in with some local issue with abuse in your community. If the grass roots people become knowledgeable things will began to change. If the people in our pews knew about abuse how our churches would change. Cover ups would become much more difficult.

For those of you on FB see if your paper has a FB site and link it to the report. See if they let it stay on the wall. Just did it for my local paper.

I shared the Huffington Post article on my Facebook page.

I got 9 "likes". And ZERO comments.

The evening before, I shared a picture of the beautiful sunset I witnessed from my deck.

The sunset got 52 "likes"! And 11 comments! For a sunset!

Disheartening?

More than a little.

Question for you Raz, how many of those "likes" do you think actually looked at the article?

We live in a superficial world, liking something is just a click away. Todays news is tomorrows fish and chip paper. Entertainment is what is craved. Fake sincerity surrounds us on our tv screens and in the lives of celebrities whose daily lives are paraded in front of us.

To actually become involved in something worthwhile, takes time, commitment and dedication. Frankly to many of us are to busy being entertained, clicking like buttons and caring for ourselves to bother with the things that really matter in life.

Bet it was a nice sunset though like, like, like.

Yes, we should do everything we can to support Boz!

I read this blog and know it is all true.
It was my experience too.
I left ntm in January 1992. Even today the shame I feel at allowing myself to be part of an organisation that is as controlling and abusive as ntm is haunts me.
I was told the ntm leadership were the holy spirit in my life, amongst many other things.
I was part of the leadership and a committee member in Australia. After I left I found as many people who suffered under ntm when I was a part of it, whether they were still members or not, and asked their forgiveness for my actions.
I know of people that have ended their lives, and some that have tried. I know of people who are so damaged by their experience they cannot speak of it. I know of people who cannot return to their faith.
This is not a christian experience.

This correlates with the dismal response to GRACE's earnest petition concerning sexual abuse in the church environment, which has been much more highly publicized than my personal Facebook post.

Two and a half months after publishing this and asking people to attach their signatures in support of this worthy cause, there are only 1,627 signatures! They haven't even made it to 2,000!

The message this proclaims to sexual abuse victims of all ages is loud and clear.

We don't want to know.

And we don't care.

Dear God! How can we ask you to help us, when we won't even help each other???

I'll stick my neck out and say the petition and much of the problem of wanting awareness is because we are trying to convince the section of the population that has been looking over the fence and pointing out what is going on in everyone elses backyard and does not want to contemplate that it's happening in their own churches and missions, in other words the Christian Protestant World.

It's easy to look over the fence and point out that Abuse is happening in the Catholic Church, the Gang down the road, the public school, in the lives of unsaved celebrities, e.t.c.

We are living proof that Abuse occurs in "nice Protestant Missions", Boz is a credible voice that this is happening, yet despite all the evidence, confessions and involvement of the law, there are still men like my father loudly proclaiming that "nothing ever happened" and who do people believe? The one that sounds nicest to their ears.

Sadly true.
