I wonder what IHARTs response will be to this? This now becomes a different ball game, because the abuse is current as well as historical. I presume IHART does actually know about this latest case?
Perhaps a sense of urgency might prevail, before any more children are abused.

Wonder what my father will make of this, no doubt he will dismiss it as more fantasy and exaggeration. He is a perverted, warped little man, who says the raising of issues like this is the devils way of derailing "the Lords Work".

So many emotions tumbling inside me since I heard this breaking news.

My heart is deeply troubled over one aspect of this: This arrest, and the last one, in 2008, both for child pornography, both of active members of NTM: both men arrested were fellow MKs. People like myself, who grew up in NTM.

This aspect makes me feel like crying.

When I was young, I felt such pressure to re-enter the mission right after high school. To go to Bible School, and from there straight into Boot Camp, Language School, and out to the field.

No one ever asked me, "Are you okay?" No one ever sat me down with a counselor to probe into psychological issues I might have. No one ever had me take any tests that could have revealed struggles or instability that might disqualify me from going to the mission field.

If you were an MK, they hey, you were good to go!

Your pedigree was perfect, no questions needed be asked.

I am so incredibly sad about this aspect of this tragic story. Did no one notice? Did no one, in all these years, have a "gut feeling" that they should have pursued?

This man has had a long career with NTM. Who knows how much devastation lies in his wake.

Please, people!! Pay attention!!! Someone you have known since childhood, someone you went to boarding school with, someone you see at field conferences, someone you let your children hang out with .... may be hiding a terrible dark side!

It can be anyone!!! Even a New Tribes Mission MK!!!

So this was another MK? Oh dear.

This is what I mentioned some months ago, if we don't deal with our baggage their is a strong chance that one will repeat the past and for a male that means sexually abusing. We well and truly indoctrinated with many things, some good some bad. We were indoctrinated in isolated environments where we were away from "normal" society, so for many of us our thinking and perception is not governed by "normal" boundaries.

I have mentioned it before. The classic MK case down here is the Bain family. On the outside a bit eccentric, but internally a total mess of dysfuntionality and sexual misconduct. All but one of them are dead now, the surviving member was jailed for the others murder. (It's a long complicated case, but absolutely fascinating, I suggest googling it). David Bain was an MK in PNG, he could have been one of us. He went to jail for murder (but was latter released, which means if he didn't do it, his father must have done a murder/suicide).

Who else is so damaged and screwed up that they are capable of God knows what? My parents have always denied any of this ever happened, have never asked how I coped with it. Apparently, according to the grapevine they "love" me. In my fathers case, I think this is a lie.

Fully overwhelmed with conflicting emotions. Tears just ready to flow. No joy in any of this; only sorrow.

Let Jesus weep!

We have work to do. Bemused is right, ICE will be looking at NTM now with suspicion and it is time for a good thorough look at who else is involved with this sordid business.
Time to turn over the perverts, before another child is raped, beaten, molested. Who cares if they are friends of your friends or even related to you. Crime must be paid for and NTM has just been sent the bill.

If you know something for God's sake speak up, because if you don't you could go down with the ship and there ain't enough life jackets.

What does that even mean?? I don't even understand that.

What kind of a connection would that be?
