Raz, I feel so bad for your precious daughter, I am so sorry for the past abuse she endured. I wish with all my heart she will be able to be whole. I also believe with all my heart NTM should close down and any assets that are remaining after they have honoured all their commitments should be divided between the abused children and their families. This is one way NTM will never allow abuse again. Full stop.

Where is justice I ask? A 19 year old woman was abused by her own father for years starting at the age of 9. It went to court and his sentence was he has to attend incestuous pedophile classes. You heard me right. This is criminal. Full stop.

If NTM or any other mission were to close down, my personal view is some of the proceeds of the assets liquidation should go to the people we rarely seem to hear about, the indigenous people who's countries we were guests in.
Yes the missions did some good, but I suspect considerable damage was done by some as well.

Alas the cynic in me would be not inclined to see any fairness in the process, those who have a habit of looking after their own interests first, will continue to do so, with a plethera of justifications of as to why they should have a good slice of the cake and the crumbs should be allocated after they have finished dining. Lawyers and leaders would be first in the line up, followed by the faithful who never deviated from the mantras, trickling down to Heretics and Agnostics .

I had visions of the wood being gathered around the stake ready for the burning of the downunder heretic and with that dear chainsaw having gone silent for a while, figured it might be a rather warm and lonely bonfire experience for suggesting that as missions, more harm may have been done than good to the people we were supposed to be helping.

They are two honest americans who speak the truth. The money should go back to the people in the countrys New Tribes Mission did bad things in. God Bless the two who are honest.

Shary Hauber, I am so glad to hear you say practice what you preach. Most of us have heard that for years and I actually agree with it. NTM should be ashamed for what they have done and are probably still doing. What hypocrites they are. My husband always said it isn't enough to tell our children do as I say not as I do as can be heard often. We parents are to lead by example and mission organisations are not exempt from that. They want to be the boss then they should lead by example, no excuses. Full stop.
