A very good statement!

Has anyone had any feedback regarding the latest arrests from those former NTM'ers who have chosen to stick their heads in the sand over the issues of sexual abuse? Particularly those who previously responded when contacted regarding former fellow students/dorm mates abuse with comments like.......Gods done too much good work there for me to want get involved.....Perhaps forgiveness will serve the person better rather than hurting Gods work......I'm writing a story about my abuse and journey to forgiveness for a magazine article BUT No, I won't be submitting a statement to police in order to support your statement(despite the fact we were sexually abused by the same dorm parent).

The nature of the BEAST.

I'm sure many of you can add to these...SILENCE...seems to be the biggest statement they make....we all know that SILENCE speaks
VOLUMES!.

Are these people all still playing dumb or are they all waiting to see if it's their brother, father, uncle, grandfather that gets picked up next?

No, the silence continues on that one. I am staggered at some of the MKs I went to school with, who decline to assist victims such as your good self.
Some of us, such as myself have been able to work through much of our past, either with the help of others or by methods of self help. But to then just wander off and not help another is morally reprehensible in my book. I just can't help get the feeling that the same old alliances of all those years ago still exist and there are those who would rather protect the familiar guilty than to reach out and help someone who they didn't know so well or was not part of their little group.

We are dealing with serious crime, not a bit of slap and tickle between two consenting but misguided individuals of consentable age. Yet it just doesn't seem to sink in how serious this is and that it is the level of crime that will incur long prison sentences in most normal circumstances. The fact that so many got away with it for so long seems to be comfort and complacency for too many, but this should be a big wake up call that those days have now ended http://on.wesh.com/ZMIDFS

Have just read a brilliant book called Escape by Carolyn Jessop....wow....the parallels between the psychological abuse of a fundamentalist Mormon sect and the tactics NTM used is mind blowing. The alienation, fear, shunning, mistrust, determination to break a persons spirit, privileged inner circle, shunning of those who leave NTM, cover ups and power of leadership, standard line: use of "God's work" to control members, justify and prevent any questioning/challenging of unacceptable behaviors.

I myself have had to look at how much the psychological abuse which started at the NTM Bible School Australia and followed through with a triple helping to NTM PNG has contributed to the struggles of those of us who have determined to face the truth, seek it out and fight for it.

Here's to our "true selves"....facing the truth and daring to LIVING IN IT!
