The article that he references ( is very interesting, and sounds all too familiar (once again). Some highlights:
... the look in that little girl’s eyes was worth all the hard work and desperate moments we shared. Her life had been changed; her story had been believed.
He was not held accountable by church leaders who, by not exposing his behavior, were complicitous with his behavior. By not doing anything, these church members repeatedly and knowingly exposed Yoder’s predatory sexual behavior to young Mennonite women. The leaders were not only naive, they were proud, self-righteous men who could not, and would not admit defeat.
(Emphasis mine.)

Well-written and all-too-true. Thanks for this link, Allbetter.

Here's a quote that jumped out at me. This is a tactic being used by NTM. When victims are told by interviewers that their stories are believed, but then consequences to abusers are avoided, by the use of legal terms like "preponderance of evidence", victims are effectively silenced, and perpetrators are left unscathed. This is terrible.

"In my observation, almost without exception, when a man tells his sad story people generally believe what they’re saying. But when a woman tells her story of suffering at the hands of men, people ask for proof. They want court documents and police reports and medical records. Or they want more women who claim to be victims of the same man to come forward to substantiate the first complainant’s claim."

Slight deviation from the subject but along the same lines. As a nurse I worked with a sexual predator who was female. Eventually there was an incident which I and several other colleagues witnessed. We filed a complaint and it was upheld. The offender was given yet another warning and in the debrief another nurse asked if it had been a male what would have been the procedure. The answer by the manager was "they would be suspended on the first complaint, sacked ASAP, that is how the system works and this conversation never took place".
The point being, in a male dominated world, women often get the raw deal. But sometimes it does go the other way when it isn't a male dominated world.

This issue is very, very important to me. Dorothy Adam, the school nurse at Mamou, was one of my sexual predators. She was also the school dentist and a dorm monitor and victimized both girls and boys in her various roles. Fast forward to the 2000's, long after the Mamou Report had come out, in which she was found guilty of the above. I heard she had been volunteering in the girls and boys clubs in New York City in the late 1990's, and there was no indication she had resigned from those volunteering positions. I contacted the C&MA and they told me they were confident she would no longer offend. I contacted Child Services in New York City more than once, sending documentation, and never heard back.

Would they have treated this differently if this had been a male perpetrator? Child Services probably would have. The C&MA..... maybe, maybe not.

Perhaps the West would do well to take a lesson from China "The West to Publically shame missionary paedophiles"

The longer this drags on, the more ill feeling toward NTM will be generated. A select few will be well paid for their "legal services", but the majority will become disillusioned, including members of NTM who are asking questions, some of these will no doubt leave.

And all of this could have never occurred if brave men had dealt with paedophiles properly all those decades ago! Or mentally perverted men and women had not been allowed to serve with NTM in the first place.

I remember boot camp and thinking that there were some very strange people there. I remember the fist fights on the soccer field and thinking, "and these guys are Christians?". And I knew that my own father was extreme in his views.
Yet as long as those candidates said the right things and had a bit of fervour, through they went. And the damage they went on to cause was phenomenal.

For me it was the beginning of a journey of questioning what was really going on and the more I questioned the more trouble I got in. It would have been easier to just close a blind eye to the madness, got through the system and have been brainwashed into going back in, like so many did.
The past three years have been wonderful, because I have finally been able to completely accept the path I took was the right one for me and my conscience is clear because I was right all along, there were too many crazy men that were allowed to progress into NTM.

They were allowed to ruin the lives of innocent children and drag the good reputations of well intentioned colleagues to unspeakable lows. And they were allowed to get away with it, because they were protected by other crazy and perverted men.
