Me too, Bemused.

Especially if that person claims to know the words of Jesus and follow them.

I have heard that the average NTM member is not happy with the fact that we who are fighting for justice are saying we need to see NTM leadership held accountable for the way children were traumatized while said leaders were in positions of power.

I personally do not think that is unfair, or overly harsh.

If people in positions of leadership were aware that children were being abused, and did nothing to stop it, then I do hold them responsible. And so do the victims/survivors of that abuse.

I had a recent conversation with an NTMer. They brought up that they thought leadership was being targeted. Is this the general consensus? I responded that no, leadership is not being targeted. Leadership is being asked what you knew, when you knew and what did you do about it.

Exactly!
And why shouldn't they be asked?

Oh seriously? Leadership has known about the high amount of criminal activity for decades and has elected to do very little about it. Their actions have allowed perverted men to destroy the lives of countless children and screw up their families, why shouldn't they be targeted?
Until NTM sorts out it's historical mess and is seen to have working procedures in place that deal correctly and harshly with future paedophiles (not the shambles that was the Scott Kennel fiasco or the Gary Earl scandal), it will be seen as a farce and fraud by many. NTM is probably doing more damage to itself than anyone else can inflict upon it and it is it's own fault, not the fault of it's victims or law enforcers or the devil or whoever else is being blamed.

NTM leaders, harden up cupcake. You have allowed this scandal to go on and on and the consequences of bad decisions are entirely at your feet. If leaders don't like being called to account, then do there are two options, start cleaning up the mess properly (i.e. go back to GRACE and the implement the recommendations and start pushing for statute of limitations on historical crimes to be abolished) or resign and state why.

Gary Earl. Yes.

If the entire picture of the Gary Earl debacle were to be made public, it would be clear that current NTM leadership is guilty of the same kind of denial, cover-up, good-old-boy protection, and other unChristlike maneuvers and manipulation that previous leaders of decades past engaged in.

If only you knew.

To use an analogy.

In this "Spiritual Warfare", some of the soldiers have been found to have committed treason. The Big General is not pleased and the Military Police have been informed. Alas it now turns out that some of the officers knew exactly what their soldiers were up to and covered it up, so they are now facing treason charges as well.

And the price for treason is very high!

We don't even have to know to believe that the scandal continues on.
The leaders do not want to go to prison.
Some in PNG were around long ago.
They know things……..

And this is where this whole mess gets worse. Nothing has been learned from the decades of abuse, in that Gary Earl was not dealt with properly and was only dealt with at all by external public pressure.
Therefore how many other current sex offenders are operating within NTM? The probability is
that the answer is not zero and we won't find out till again public pressure acts upon rumours that seep out of the well protected environment that fosters such criminals.
