After I recovered from the shock of finding this sight and that I wasn't the only one abused by my abuser the anger I felt for my abuser naturally was transferred to the NTM powers that be. For their negligence in allowing this abuser to continue as a dorm parent, demand my parents then work with him and on not being able to re-home him transfer him to another country....

I'm not going to apologize for expressing my anger and absolute disgust in regard to my abuser and NTM's negligence and apathy. There tends to have been somewhat of a flow on affect from issues specific to sexual abuse in the site due to the nature of NTM's inaction. It is at times very difficult to separate emotions in to boxes when you find out NTM added and abetted sexual predators......and you were the one who paid for their negligence.

On reading earlier posts I do see that there was a community that was discussing issues SPECIFIC TO various individuals SEXUAL ABUSE. In fact.....the people writing appear to have been directly affected which made for some beautiful insights/understanding and examples of compassion amongst bloggers.

Yes....perhaps we have lost our way in our venting....I'll put my hand up to that. The site was started by Bonnie and Kari as a medium for those of us who had been abused...who have been there and maybe are still there. Maybe sticking to the topic would help....our stories re. sexual abuse and narrow the field a little.

If anyone was in PNG and suffered abuse...throw me a pm..if anyone is planning to do something about J Given or knows someone who is...let me know. I was actually there.....

I hear you. See how far you've come, see how far so many of us have come. The first step in healing is just the same as an alcoholic, you have to look deeply into the very soul of yourself and then be ready to be helped up. Not kicked up, dragged up, but helped up.
It ain't no bed of roses, there are still bad days, bad flashbacks, still anger. But now the anger is manageable and is not directed at innocent bystanders.

Oh I still have issues and if I ever meet an abuser or a pompous NTMer who says I should forgive and forget, it will be "lead me into temptation for I know exactly what I'm doing, vroom vroom, rev rev" . Life is better, much better, but there are still offenders out there and they are criminals in the eyes of the law and need to be brought to justice still. So this wonderful site has two purposes that I can see, helping MKs to heal and bringing justice to those who caused this suffering and those who participated by covering it up and still do!

As for eating all the cheesecake, o.k. I'll forgive that one!

Burp! I mean LIKE!
Aussie, I agree with you about being HELPED up when you are ready.
And not before.
It won't work.
But "helped" and not dragged or kicked up.
We are in a new level of discouragement as parents who want to help.
It's not the time and we may never be the ones to do the helping.....
Even tho we admit the wrong we did and love our kids deeply.
We are watching something almost dangerous happening and our hearts are breaking.
It could go a good way if that "wanting help" thing kicks in.

A parent's deep, ongoing grief. Realizing you blundered into terrible, terrible choices that allowed unfathomable harm to come to your child. Now suffering the consequences of those choices, watching your adult child act out their pain, and being unable to "fix" things.

We cannot go back into the past and fix things there. We also cannot fix things in the present or the future, when our children are already adults and making their own choices.

This grief is unending, it seems. It is not within our power to force our children to want help, or to change.

And so we sit. We cry. We pray. We stand ready to respond. Hope deferred, our hearts are sick.

The changes we pray for may never come. We ourselves must keep moving ahead. Our joy cannot be contingent on whether or not our child gets "fixed".

Mosquito Bite, you are not alone in your Mother Grief.

I hope that helps just a little.

Yes, our hearts are sick.
Yes, it helps to know that others understand.
We have great kids and we love them!
We are hanging on........
and on....
and on......

Thanks, Raz.

I'm not sure if we have any admins active here anymore, but it would be great if someone could block ausgolf and delete the topics they created. Thanks. :)
