ABWE has edited the bangladeshmksspeak from their facebook page. They posted their survey about the closed investigation of Simms Showers LLP. Guess that was just too much for ABWE. Full stop.

Guess what. ABWE has a fantastic website, with an extensive contact list.

http://www.abwe.org/contact/

They even have a magazine that takes contributions :D . And I love contributing to magazines.

Good on ABWE, I'm sure they'd love us nice people at Fanda Eagles to write to them and show our support for their MKs. And the more of us that write to offer the support, the more they will appreciate our kind efforts.

So folks, how about it? Shall we show Pamela and our fellow MKs some support, "yes we can" (to quote someone I heard speaking once).

When we read the report from ABWE concerning the Simms Showers LLP closed investigation my husband was a bit concerned in the wording. It seemed since they would not name the abusers it left suspicion on anyone who was dead, retired or terminated from ABWE. My husband felt he should get his name cleared from the list but then put it out of mind. However, after reading several comments on the bangladeshmksspeak blog he realized his thinking was spot on. He emailed ABWE and said since they will not name those involved in these sex scandals then they need to name those who were not to take suspicion off the innocent. He got a reply today from the chair of the board and he said he would take his email in full to the board. Well, we won't hold our breath our request will be granted but if I know my husband he will write every board member of ABWE and get a direct answer as to why. Name the guilty or name the innocent. Full stop.

That is an excellent thing to point out, Pamela.

Name the guilty, or name the innocent!

ABWE! NTM!

Are you listening? The guilty do not deserve your protection! And the innocent do not deserve to come under suspicion because of your vagueness.

This mess is getting worse and worse.

The thing that makes me angry about this is, I KNOW that these mission boards would say that they do not actually wish to protect child molesters and abusers. I know they would tell us that they feel these missionaries who hurt children have committed grave sins and should not be hidden or protected.

So who/what are they actually trying to protect, by being so vague, and refusing to name names and spell out the crimes committed?

They are scrambling to protect THEMSELVES!! They are protecting their organizations! They are protecting their own reputations! THEY ARE PROTECTING THEIR MONEY!!

The way this all comes down to money frustrates me no end. I have had older NTMers tell me they are appalled at the revelations of widespread child abuse in NTM. But at their age, they are nearing retirement. They have no marketable skills in today's economy. They are just going to lay low and hold tight, just to get to retirement. And I do sympathize with their financial fears. But how can that be the right thing to do?? Keep silent for the sake of your own financial survival?

Matthew 6:24

"You cannot serve both God and money."

All the words I heard about serving God, serving others, having compassion on the least of the least, spreading the Good News, God will provide, on and on and on ....

It all feels like empty words. Empty words, in the face of the reality that I see today, in both ABWE and NTM.

God save us from this nightmare!!!

With the pursuit of money comes corruption following closely behind.

What happened to selling all you had and going to do God's work? Now we hear of a large investment fund. What is that for? Might I humbly suggest that mega bucks is being spent on lawyers to protect justice taking place. Meanwhile on the smell of an oily rag there are those who fight on and on for justice to be served.

The scary thing is that I somehow doubt God is on the side of lawyers and those that use them to evade their responsibilities. Ironically that would mean by logical deduction that God is on the side of justice and those that pursue it for the greater good of others and society. Therefore God is more likely to be on the side of Bemused, than He is on the side of some self appointed "godly men" and that is a very weird turn of events.

Some "kind of good news." After I found out the Simms Showers LLP investigation of sexual abuse by ABWE missionaries other than Dr. Donn William Ketcham was closed I contacted the woman I had been dealing with. She did not know the investigation was closed and immediately emailed Simms Showers LLP and asked for all documentation regarding her case. She got most of it but not the testimonial of the abuser. She has forwarded me everything she has received and at some time I may post the results but will wait until she has received the abusers' testimonial. I am happy to say he was disciplined and there was also another victim outside of this family. I have to admit I am not altogether happy with their findings and in fact a bit confused but the fact he was disciplined because of the other victim will just have to suffice. This is sounding a bit disjointed so will post more later. Full stop.

GOOD NEWS! The missionary that abused the woman I have been dealing with has been disciplined. I am not for sure if all his supporting churches have been notified or just his sending and current church. Full stop.

The abuser's name of the woman I have been dealing with has been exposed for all to see. This is a tremendous burden off me. I am not for sure it is legal for me to name him here but it can be checked out on bangladeshmksspeak. This has been going on over a year and I am so very relieved it is at least out in the open. If ABWE had dealt with him when they were first told other victims would have been spared. Shame on ABWE. Full stop.

Hmmmmmmm, where have we heard very similar versions of this story before? Oh yes, right here. Over and over again.
Well done on your persistance, see it does pay off.

Which reminds me, still haven't had a reply to my parable that I sent to ABWE. However the Baptist Union in a little country at the bottom of the globe is now questioning why they are supporting an Australian organisation that it has been proven to them condones paedophiles behaviour.
Keep writing the e-mails and slowly but surely the results will come.
