The darkroom was the true center of power We had communications capabilities in the building Navy guy Best biology teacher ever
We would develop at least five batches of pictures a week. two batches of pictures on Sundays The yearbook committee would meet on Thursday
We would do a batch before Sunday school One Sunday, the Ohio State graduates gave us each a docinho as a reward....little piece of candy We left on our bikes, dropping the wrappers on the ground Later that day, upon returning for duty (usually at 2 pm), we discovered that our littering had been observed. Arden and Jeanette were awesome people and awesome teachers. Jeanette provided structure. Arden would provide those links/connections that young minds could use to imagine and discover. We were in 7th grade math in 1981, using the Beka book, and Arden walked in, announcing the news about Sadat. That was a crucial moment in world history, and I had a teacher that made me curious. He would briefly mention something about service in the Navy. He was brilliant. Just last month, I got to work on a project with an attorney from Westchester County. He and Arden could be brothers. Their ability to observe human nature in action, their wealth of knowledge, their respect for women, and their overall gentle nature.
