We made over 300 paper airplanes on Saturday
We were boys, third through sixth grade

We managed to be hired to scrape excess wax from the edges of the red wax floors at Jack and Babs' house. Since they were dormparents for the high school dorm .... we had unrivaled access .... those momma's boys in the high school dorm could only stare with envy from a distance as we dutifully scraped the wax, and departed. Ou earnings helped pay for our camping trip to Third Creek.

We had weekly elections. President, Vice-President, Secretary and Teasurer.

Joel Parker was by far the most generous member of the club. One time he gave his entire allowance. We had a little chest where we kept the money. Weekly dues were reasonable.

We made a map of our bike trails between the fence and the airstrip.

Grandma, from Hindman, KY, came to Shekinah when Anita was born.

Back then, if someone missed a connecting flight in Rio...
Out in Campo Grande....

We would just go into Campo Grande and stay at a hotel
Rio Hotel

Did you know that Michel Teló's dad owned a padaria in Campo Grande.

Then, the next day, we would go back out to the airport
VASP....yes!

Loved the smell of the United States in that box of goodies

My grandmother wrote us every week.
From January of 1970
Those letters ... it seems like you bought them with the stamp printed on them.

My grandfather passed away in April of 1992
At UK Hospital in Lexington. I got to sing "Because He Lives" at his funeral.

Grandma passed away in August of 1998.
