Publius, I hope that you and others will not be skeptical. I wish you could know that there are a lot of people hurting here, too. They truly are heart broken about what happened to so many MK's. They feel as betrayed as you because they could not and did not do anything to prevent the abuse. There is still a lot of love and admiration for "our MK's" and I firmly believe the letter was written out of that love.............for what it's worth.

XYZ, my heart "hunkered down and cried" when I read your most recent comments. Oh, how I ache for you and I wish that we could talk. I echo Survivor's sentiments exactly. It makes me "fighting mad" how the enemy tries to Hide and Hush things and then no one gets to be healed and live in freedom again. He makes you captive for all of your days. Please find someone you can talk to and begin to be released from the pain. Please know that you are loved and affirmed and prayed for.

@ViaWings: the emailed letter was posted by someone else in another one of the fora dedicated to Vianopolis. I think the thread directly above or beneath "Name that Pedophile". It may have been directed to those who suffered directly from emotional, or physical abuse. However, I think we all suffered from some form of spiritual abuse while there, and so every kid who went to Via during those years (1981-1994) ought to read the emailed letter.

@Wise2Late: I read with some skepticism, but suspected that you and others were instrumental in having it sent, and even, perhaps in drafting the letter. I'm sure the product reflects countless hours of prayer, formal and informal talks around dinner tables, and perhaps long, contemplative walks around the "land" looking out over the valley. In any event, skepticism, in small doses, is healthy. I understand many there are hurting, as well. I believe I know your heart and what motivates you . . . .abracos!

(By the way, someone stated they believed Via was being closed down . . . is that true? Or, merely, that its use is being shifted from that of a boarding school to something else?)

Last I heard, the Via MK school will not be functioning next year. Very soon the field committee will be discussing and deciding on what to do with the mission property in Via. It may be used for another part of the MNTB training but it kind of sounds like it might no longer be needed as an MK school.

I believe that I can safely say that the Land will continue to be the property of MNTB, but exactly what it will be used for has not been definitely decided yet. The field conferences will continue to be held here. If there is an MK school, it will have a different type of structure, though not sure at this time what it will actually "look like."

If you change your mind about a legal career - you should consider counseling. You've been a blessing that I never, ever would have foreseen.

Even when you were demonstrating Proverbs 27:6 & I wanted to smack you - your words have been timely & wise.

I am amazed at the step you have taken and wish to extend my apoio to you. I have tried to put myself in your place many times, and I can only begin to have an idea of your pain. I am so happy, overjoyed, to hear that you are now reconciled with your cousin.

It's been awhile since anyone's posted on here. I come today with a request, if it should apply to you. First an update on our situation. Steve has been in counseling since Oct and recently we heard that his counselor feels Steve no longer needs the counseling. He feels all things have been dealt with. We were surprised to hear this since we had not yet been able to address our concerns through our mediator to Steve's counselor on to Steve. We,the victims and family members, still have a lot of questions, concerns, and want answers from Steve. We are gathering those together to send to our mediator on to Steve's counselor. After the counselor has read everything, he will be meeting with Steve again.
So my question is this, if there is anyone who hasn't come forward with abuse that happened at the hands of Steve, would you consider coming forward now? We really want to get this all out-in-the-open now, while Steve has a counselor he's working with, while we have a mediator in Brazil we are working through. We don't want anything else to be hidden.
Not that I want anyone to make something up that didn't happen. And I don't disregard how hard this would be for you also. I am here if you want to contact me. Thanks you all. Still hoping for a miracle.
