Self-preservation.
On December 19, 1994, Scott Ross writing on behalf of Macon Hare, David Calderwood, Dean Van Vliet, T.A. Bennett, Mel Wyma, Bryan Coupland, Oli Jacobsen, Leslie Pederson and Duane Stous, described the actions/manner of the East Brazil field committee in relation to Frank Parker as demonstrating "real grace and gentleness" and "very conservative and appropriate." (see above links).
The IHART report, a mysterious document made available to only a few individuals, generates consequences for two former members of the East Brazil field committee, but exempts and/or makes no mention of Scott Ross, Macon Hare, David Calderwood, Dean Van Vliet, T.A. Bennett, Mel Wyma, Bryan Coupland, Oli Jacobsen, Leslie Pederson and Duane Stous.
How is it that in December of 1994, Scott Ross and friends review the record and put their stamp of approval on what East Brazil did, but when IHART investigates, upper management in Sanford escapes silently out the back door, leaving veteran missionaries to twist in the wind? Would one of you spiritually-minded, defenders of the faith and all things NTM put down your iPad in your air-conditioned office and answer this simple question?
