Netflix is a very cheap subscription service that enable you to watch TV shows or movies from anywhere you can pic up the internet. Anything sci fi and gory and dramatic, my man is bound to be caught up in . . .you can watch a series, and literally spend every evening watching the next episode, season after season . . .and at the end of like four months, say, "Where was I?"

Back in my pre-Via days, our SIL school would have retreats up in a beautiful, higher, secluded area with waterfalls. At night we would tramp out to the highway . . .it was always deserted. It was cool at night, but the asphalt would be warm. We would spread out, and each lay down on the road looking at the stars. Because of the extreme darkness, and the tilt of the road, we wouldn't be able to see each other, but our voices carried. We'd talk, sing, eventually someone would fart.

Mr. Allbetter was raised in a dysfunctional family on an isolated farm. When he "got saved" as a teenager, it was at a tiny Baptist church with an extremely controlling pastor.

The pastor convinced him that it was Gods will for him to do a "puppet ministry" instead of continuing to play football.

From what you described Bemused, is that you had very little true communion with other kids, once you got to the field. Mr. Allbetter did not have this experience either, ever.

I have hope that both of you will one day be comfortable and "totally dig" an event in which there may be some Christians present. And I have hope that those "anointed" won't talk out of their ass.

I must have had a sheltered upbringing
