On Tuesday, October 5 2010, Larry Brown and Dan Kreider travelled to Georgia and initially met with David Brooks' pastor. The pastor had just received the link to the GRACE Report and had just finished the first 15 pages when Larry and Dan arrived. The pastor was extremely disturbed about what he read in the report and did not take a defensive position regarding David Brooks. NTM explained that they were there because they believed that NTM was responsible to warn the pastor about David Brooks in order that he could take steps to prevent Brooks from abusing anyone at the church. The pastor expressed support for what NTM was doing and claimed that he was shocked because he had never been informed about the abuse by Brooks. Shortly thereafter, Brooks was called to the church whereby Larry and Dan informed him that they were there to confront him about his sexual abuse of over 9 children that had caused so much harm and destruction to so many. David Brooks did not deny the charges and did not appear to be defensive. Though he did claim that this abuse only took place during that era on the Senegal field. David Brooks quoted the verse, “it is better to put a millstone around a neck and cast into the sea than that he should offend one of these little ones.” He stated that he would rather that that millstone would have been on his neck because how wretched he has felt and the damage this has caused over the years for everyone. Larry asked David if he was aware of what the MKs and their families have lost over the past 25 years because of his abuse. David said he "understood".

Towards the end of the meetings, David Brooks asked what he could do? He wanted to apologize to NTM and to the MKs. Dan and Larry responded that at this time most of the MK’s didn’t want an apology, but wanted him to pay for what he did. Prior to leaving, Larry and Dan presented David Brooks and his pastor with a copy of the GRACE report. Larry and Dan left the meeting while the pastor and David Brooks continued to meet.

On the following morning, Dan and Larry met with Pike County Sheriff, Jimmy Thomas, for the purpose of providing him with a copy of the letter NTM had sent to David Brooks regarding his retroactive termination. Larry expressed that NTM's purpose in meeting was so that the Sheriff would be aware of what David Brooks had done to the children at Fanda for the purpose of possibly assisting the Sheriff in the future if abuse claims are every made against David Brooks. The Sheriff read the letter and then asked his assistant to see if there had been any reported allegations on David. There were none. The Sheriff expressed gratitude to Larry and Dan for providing him this information. He stated that he had been Sheriff for 11 years and had never had anyone or any institution do something like this. The Sheriff stated that he was so impressed by NTM stopping by, and wished more churches would do the same when they are aware of someone who could be a danger to the community.

The Larry and Dan show has been on a 2.5 year hiatus.
I know they're waiting for the results of the investigations, but it's time to get their station wagon out of the garage again. It's high time.

Demos, I know that the Executive Board has received clear information in the past 2.5 years of several other child abusers who, during their time in NTM, caused great harm to innocent MKs.

O.k. enlighten me here. Who actually wrote this article? It reads to my humble self as a type of media release, one that says "look here we are doing something".

And how important is a Sheriff? (the only Sheriffs we have down here are on t.v., usually crime dramas or westerns)

Maybe they think they have done enough? After all they have a history of doing nothing so a car trip down to Georgia 2.5 years ago to see the Sheriff probably equates to 20 years of full on action in their warped view. And no "warped" is not too strong a word. I would use much stronger words but don't want to offend too many people.

They don't seem to get it. I mean how serious it is.

But wait there is hope. Sheriff Jimmy Thomas is actually a Kiwi!!!!!! And I've invited him to join us. WHAT are you completely cracked Bemused, I hear the masses cry, since when is a Sheriff from Georgia a Kiwi?

Well go to his website and look at his personal profile and look at community service. See it says "Citizen of the Year Award from Kiwanis Club". So he must be a Kiwi

I’ve been asked by others to say more about my call from Larry Brown.

I have not met Larry in person but after about 50 minutes of talking with him, I trust him.
It was a surprise call on my cell phone as I was driving to an appointment. When I realized who it was, I pulled over to give my full attention to his call.
I am not going to quote him exactly so I don’t want anything I say to be interpreted as his actual words.

He told me that he is involved in this about 80 hours a week and he will not stop until all is exposed and dealt with. Unsolicited, he said he is not about saving NTM. His only purpose may be this situation. (Sort of sounded like an “Esther” comment. I have often felt that Kari was an “Esther” being equipped for such a time as this.) When he said his wife was concerned about him because this totally absorbs all his time and his lack of sleep all he could think about was just one victim’s tortured nights and scarred life.

52 weeks x 2.5 = 130
130 x 80 = 10,400 hours (because he said he would not stop)

Let's assume he took one 15-minute break...so knock it down to 10,399.75 hours.

What has been the net result of the 10,399.75 hours, other than the severe "retroactive terminations" ("Well just slip this piece of pink paper into your personnel file....heck no, we'll just make a little notation here on the computer, 'RT'...and that's it. OK, here's your voucher. Do you need a ride back to NTM homes? Oh, and don't worry about contributing to the MK fund. We'll take care of that with our investment income.")?
