May I suggest reading and acting by leaving this sick sick mission? I don't believe that is a radical suggestion. If you are not absolutely disgusted by this man and the lack of any reasonable response from NTM then I seriously doubt you are as christian as you no doubt believe you are

These are seriously criminal actions and he may receive up to 30 years in prison. I for one am hoping he gets 30 years. You don't have only 2 victims if you have some 940 imagines of child porn in your possession. Come on people.

A former missionary for the Sanford-based New Tribes Mission pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of production of child pornography and could spend up to 30 years in federal prison for his crime.

Agents began investigating 45-year-old Warren Scott Kennell of New Jersey after receiving a tip that he posted photographs on a website used by people trading child porn, a criminal complaint stated.

According to court documents, Kennell produced child porn involving two 12-year-old girls between December 2008 and August 2011.

On May 31, agents with United States Customs and Border Protection stopped Kennell at Orlando International Airport as he arrived from a flight that originated in Brazil.

He was question by Homeland Security and immigration agents. During an interview, Kennell initially denied that he had acted inappropriately.

When he was searched, investigators said, they found three thumb drives and one external hard drive.

When Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigators found two images depicting child pornography on the hard drive, according to the complaint, Kennell admitted he was the man abusing a young girl in one picture and said he was responsible for photographing the second girl.

The sexual abuse happened while he was working as a missionary in Brazil. The victims are members of an indigenous tribe in the Amazon, where Kennell was setting up a church, according to a spokesman for the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida.

A forensic search of Kennell's external hard drive showed more than 940 images of child pornography.

The New Tribes Mission has a public database that lists each of the more than 1,500 missionaries on its website.

First, my username was recorded as Still_an_MK_. I intended it to be recorded as Still_an_MK_Teacher. I wanted everybody to know what I am.

I'm glad Kennel was arrested. I hope they throw the book at him. He has violated trust with children, their parents, his co-workers and God. Three cheers for the whistleblowers. NTM announced that he had been arrested and placed on administrative leave right after he was arrested. NTM just announced that he has pled guilty; and that he has been dismissed from the organization. Good.

I hope that all of his victims will be able to bring their stories into the light and feel cleansing and healing.

Trust for many, will never be rebuilt. That is just one of the many tragic consequences of acts of evil.

For my part, as an MK teacher, I still care about my kids the way they should be cared for. I have never broken trust with any of them, and I pray that I never will, because, "let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall."

I know many of you are hurting. I hurt too.

No, you are not an outsider. In spite of all that has been written here about child abusers in NTM, and poor decisions/responses on the part of NTM leadership, let me assure you: every one of us who were MKs in a school, or parents of MKs who attended a school, can think of teachers for whom we have deep respect, appreciation and gratitude.

At times, some of those great teachers have been named here, with much affection.

Thank you for caring about the kids you teach, and about the MKs who have been been and are still hurting.

I believe we had a thread running at one stage where we remembered those who had had a positive impact on our lives. We also had a thread in appreciation of our long suffering other halves, partners, husbands, wives or significant others.

Very grateful, us lot .

I remember some of my teachers that had a huge positive impact on my life...I remember one in particular who went out of her way to make me feel special. She told me often that I had a beautiful smile. At a time when I wasn't receiving much attention or affirmation from other adults, sometimes that one compliment was something I could hang on to give me confidence and strength. I am very thankful for those teachers who were loving and caring!

I also had a dorm mom in high school who came to our room every single night to tuck us in, even when she had her own babies to care for. I don't think I realized what that meant until I had babies of my own and how much of an effort that must have been for her.
