[quote="ornerythornery"]Just because someone has been in the ministry for decades, just because they make DVD's to teach the Bible, and even if they have led 10,000 people to Christ, that doesn't mean law enforcement shouldn't be notified about child abuse.
Absolutely true!
By continuing in ministry without following through with the recommendations of a supporting church (which the Armours chose to put themselves accountable under) to seek intensive counseling as a sexual abuser for one year has now resulted in more consequences that hurt the victims once AGAIN and further soils the testimony of Christ. Do not understand the lack of willingness to pursue the counseling and accountability.
As Wikipedia defines repentance: Repentance is choosing to turn to God. In religious contexts it usually refers to confession to God, ceasing sin against God, and resolving to live according to religious law. It typically includes an admission of guilt, a promise or resolve not to repeat the offense; an attempt to make restitution for the wrong, or in some way to reverse the harmful effects of the wrong where possible.
The minimizing of the abuse, the minimal counseling efforts, the minimal attempt at accountability and the exchange of the role of perpetrator to victim is evidence that the enemy is within the camp.....it is the enemy who is using these unresolved, unrepentant and incomplete repentance to further damage the victims and the LORD'S ministry.
