As Arthur Conin Doyle in "Sherlock Holmes" said "when you have exhausted all possible explanations, what is left, no matter how implausable, is the answer".

If one has asked nicely, begged, cried, pleaded, asked others to intervene, used the media to obtain what one feels is just and right. And those options have not resulted in any precievable result, then the legal option begins to loom as a viable answer.

Yes, it makes they that practise the law well renumerated for the efforts, but it does force the issue to a judgement one way or the other.

Do remember however pursing the legal option is not possible for all MKs, due to geographic locations, however if you need assistance you have only to ask such MKs .

You are most kind. Alas I have to declare that I am biased on the side of victims and are too closely involved to be dispassionate. I can see why NTM thinks and acts the way the do, but I still can't condone most of it.

I was talking with the interlectually gifted Mrs Bemused last night. One concern we have is that the IHART team are all ex police officers. This is good in that they know the right questions to ask and will no doubt do an excellent job. But from my knowledge of a police officers code of ethics, if a crime is put in front of your nose and is obviously a serious and valid accusation, isn't a sworn officer (now retired) obliged to report that to say a senior colleague (or a non retired officer). Just writing recommendations for the organisation that the accusation stems from puzzles Mrs Bemused and I.
Given that we are talking multiple cases of Rape, Incest and other serious offences, it has us curious.

Under current NZ legislation, as a health professional, if I suspect a child in my care is the victim of abuse I am required to report it, as are school teachers and certain other professions. In the IHART case it will be far more than a suspicion, but with the complication of being historic.

I'm not belittling the work or credibility of individuals on the IHART team, just want to know what I'm getting myself into, before I take the big leap of faith and spill my story.

Any words of wisdom appreciated.
