When this story first broke in the Orlando Sentinel, on 9 May 2011, "New Tribes Mission declined to respond to questions until New Tribes spokeswoman Nita Zelenak returned to Sanford on Wednesday."

That same day, NTO hid the following blurb in the deep recesses of its website:
May 9, 2011
SANFORD, Florida: At noon today we became aware that a lawsuit has been filed against New Tribes Mission in regard to allegations of child abuse in the Philippines that were investigated and addressed prior to 1994.

This lawsuit is pending but New Tribes Mission has not yet been served with the legal papers. We therefore cannot comment further at this time.

So, who wrote this? We know it wasn't Ms. Zelenak, as she wasn't back in Sanford yet. Is there anyone in Sanford who would like to take credit for this?

It is now Friday the 13th. Nita Zelenak has been back since Wednesday, the 11th. Is anyone asking any questions?

The odious "Press release" has now been deleted from the NTM website.

OK I went to the public section of the NTM website and put lawsuit filed in the search box and came up with 1 item. It looks like the same post that was published here but now nothing comes up when you click on it. There is nothing now on the website about the lawsuit.

Right. It's been deleted.

It should probably be replaced with something else about the lawsuit. Something more considerately worded.

But for now, there is nothing.

I seriously doubt they will put anything of any substance regarding the lawsuit on the website. They're not going to want to let any of their defense strategy leak out, or provide any ammunition for the plaintiff.

Frank Parker Resigns Posthumously
"We tried to fire him, but we were too late," claims NTM spokesperson

Dateline: Sanford, FL

At a hastily arranged news conference today, New Tribes Mission spokeswoman Nita Zelanak revealed that NTM's efforts to retroactively fire serial child molester Frank Parker were thwarted today when it was discovered that he posthumously resigned six weeks ago.

"NTM regrets its failure to retroactively, posthumously fire Frank Parker," said the NTM spokeswoman. "I spoke to him in a séance yesterday evening," she said. "It seems that he had already been in touch with Chet Plimpton, who advised him to resign rather than face dismissal."

Chester "Chet" Plimpton, former member of the Executive Board of New Tribes, resigned himself in the wake of the Fanda Eagles scandal when a third party investigation, not using NTM servers, found him culpable in the cover-up of sexual abuse of children and recommended his dismissal. Plimpton has reportedly since become a Presbyterian.

Asked about the advisability of using séances to contact the departed, Ms Zelenak, known to her intimates as "The Friendly Witch of Endor," insisted that "biblical precedent exists." She conceded, however, that it is a controversial method in fundamentalist circles and "it isn't done often. We only use our own servers and we never contact people who've gone to heaven."
