The boldfaced quotations below are taken from email messages from Bing Hare and Oli Jacobsen of New Tribes Mission, Inc. These have convinced me that New Tribes Mission is in possession of information that is germane to the criminal prosecution of Les Emory in the Republic of the Philippines.

Therefore, on October 23, 2010, I sent the following request to New Tribes Mission, asking them to send me, via registered mail, notarized copies of evidence to support their statements.

Four days later, on October 27, 2010, Tibby Westcott replied. She said she had asked for advice on how they can help with the information I requested; she hoped to hear something that day. She promised to be in touch as soon as she heard anything. She did not tell me from whom she asked advice, or when she did so. I have still not heard back from her.

1. "On March 14, 1993, Les was confronted and initially denied the allegations. The following day he admitted to molesting one girl... " and "Les was confronted …. and initially denied the allegations."

Send the names and contact information of those who confronted him.

To whom was the admission made? Include full names and contact information for each person. Send copies of all evidence supporting this statement.

What is the name of the victim? Send copies of all evidence supporting this statement.


2. "Les was told he must immediately leave the Philippines..."

Send the names and contact information of those who told him he must immediately leave the Philippines. Send all evidence supporting this claim.


3. "Outside professional help was sought by the Philippines field leadership from a counselor at Faith Academy." and "At the time the abuse was made known to us, we immediately sought professional advice … from a lawyer."

Send the name and contact information of this counselor. Send copies of all evidence supporting this statement. Send the names and contact information of the Philippine field leadership who sought this help.

Please send the name and contact information for this lawyer. Send all copies of all correspondence with this lawyer. Send all evidence supporting this claim.


4. "After a continued investigation it was found that other girls had been molested. Les was confronted with each name and confessed to his pastor to a number of others."

Send the names and contact information of those who conducted the further investigation. Send all evidence relating to this investigation. Send the names and contact information of all victims who the investigation revealed to have been molested by Les Emory. Send evidence substantiating whether or not he confessed to having molested those other victims. Send the name and contact information of the pastor to whom he confessed a number of other cases.


5. "In May of 1993 letters were sent to each girl acknowledging the incidents."

Send a copy of this letter. Send copies of all evidence supporting this statement.


6. "Les was reported to the authorities in the USA, in Florida & Virginia (6/93) but not to the Filipino authorities."

Send copies of the written reports to authorities in the USA, in Florida & Virginia. Send all evidence relating to the decision not to report these crimes to the Filipino authorities.


7. "Les was dismissed from the mission."

Send copies of all communication with Les Emory and / or Les and Wendy Emory regarding this dismissal.


8. "Letters were sent to each of Emory’s churches clearly stating the issue and a second letter to the Philippines (6/93) stating that Les had lied and in fact more girls had been molested."

Send copies of these letters. Send copies of all evidence supporting this statement.


9. "The parent's [sic] of the first girl reporting the incident refused NTM’s offer to get counseling help for their daughter."

Send written proof of this. Send copies of all evidence supporting this statement.


10. "Two other girls have subsequently sought counseling and we have paid for that for them."

Send written proof of this, including proof of payment.


11. "…. [A] letter was sent to every family on the field from HQ explaining what was found and what the outcomes were."

Send copies of this letter.


12. "In 2002 an additional victim talked with Scott Ross."

Send the name and contact information for this victim. Send copies of all evidence supporting this statement.


13. "In 2010, a [man] made the candidate secretary aware of abuse he received from Les while in the Emory dorm at Aritao."

Send written records detailing his interview with the candidate secretary. Send the candidate secretary's name and current contact information. Send copies of all evidence supporting this statement.


14. "The CPC requested a preliminary report from him but he never replied."

Send a copy of the CPC's request, and a copy of the preliminary report he was asked to file.

THAT GIRL, victim of sexual abuse by Les Emory

Bing Hare, and Oli Jacobsen were furnished with these summaries. Therefore, it is extremely clear that this information is readily available. Why does the CPC need any "advice" in how they can "help" us with this information? How long could it possibly take to walk over to the filing cabinet, grab the folder(s), walk back to the copier, scan, and email or fax? Or, is the real question, How long is NTM going to try to drag this out?

Better yet, take your time NTM. Duly noted. Several attempts were made by us both to obtain this information. I feel a tidal wave coming!

Although I appreciate your request for all documentation, no one but GRACE should be given names of other victims. Their privacy must be protected. If and when they want to take part in the investigation that simply must be left to each victim's discretion.

You can find the name of every student (did Aritao have yearbooks?) who may have been in contact with Les Emory and find their emails and write them that you are starting an investigation and invite them to participate.

I know from experience that some victims do not want any mention of thier abuse ever mentioned to anyone. They have the right to that privacy.

Notice how on the Fanda report GRACe so very carefully protected the identity of victims. To disclose another's abuse without their permission can cause some serious added injury.

That said, you are on the right tract to take authority over this and you can make more happen. You may want to start a blog and facebook page for the Aritao school.

I'll be praying for speedy involvement and many former students to come forth.

I agree about protecting the privacy of other victims who do not wish to have their identity revealed. However, NTM Is in possession of information that would have gotten Les Emory Convicted 17 years ago. They admittedly did not turn that information over the the Filipino Authorities.

In another email to NTM, I stated: " You have information that can assist in getting him prosecuted in the Republic of the Philippines. Turn over everything you know, and everything you have to this man: ATTY. FILBERT C. F. FLORES III attyfilbertflores@ovp.gov.ph or to (That Girl), and she will do what you should have done 17 years ago.

It doesn't take 17 years to walk over to the filing cabinet, grab a folder, make some copies, and turn it in to the appropriate authorities!

There has been some talk of lawsuits. The difficulties aside, a lawsuit may give you more power. The court compels information from the defendants. I have read that some do not want this to be dragged into court. However, the pain that I read here in just trying to get basic information from an entity that has failed us time and time again is palatable. It may benefit some to speak with a good personal injury attorney.

Why no one but GRACE? Because GRACE knows confidentiality. These are career professionals who are attorneys and professional therapists who lose their law license or counseling license if they violate confidentiality. Note how carefully identities were camouflaged in the Fanda report. They ahve a proven track record.

As I mentioned before – I know from personal experience how vital it is to not disclose identities.

Your personal comment to me that NTM has regularly failed to protect the names of victims does not make it OK for others to do so. It is never OK to justify bad behaviour by other bad behaviour.

Why don't you say, "Extraordinary efforts must be made to protect the identity of other victims"?

You are implying that GRACE is the ONLY organization in the entire world that is capably protecting the identity of victims that do not wish their identity revealed.

I could not disagree stronger. No one ever said it was OK for ANYONE to reveal the identity of victims who do not wish to have their identity revealed.

The point of this topic, by the way, is not about the option of protecting the identity of victims. That goes without saying. That Girl is protecting HER identity!

The point of this topic is why NTM is STILL in possession of information that is vital to the conviction of a very evil man. They have refused to turn over that information to the Filipino Authorities! They have so far stalled and been non-responsive to any and all attempts to get that information in the hands of the authorities. That girl has offered to do it for NTM because they won't! That is the point of this topic.

Just a question for you. If you are so concerned about revealing the identity of victims who are seeking Justice who do not want their identity revealed, why on earth would you suggest to "That Girl" she start a blog and a Facebook page and email every one of the people she went to school in Aritao with? Why do you think she is using an alias? Common sense says that is a major contradiction, don't you agree?
