Oh there are many closets that are firmly nailed shut. Getting into Fort Knox would be easier. If all had been open and honest in the first place we wouldn't all be here now.

As for thy closet, I had a sneak peek, what an amazing array of Ali Barba Pants . I did like the pair that said "To MB, from John Lennon, Let It Be and Imagine" .

Wow! leader ship abuse. now there is a subject that I could write pages about. From Mississippi boot camp, Bolivia, Panama to Senegal. I wouldn't know where to start and it would fill pages.

I think I already mentioned this, but my family was a part of NTM from the late 90's to early 2000's. The spirtual/leadership abuse is still very much present & a part of NTM. Just wanted to be clear on that one. There is no 'old ntm' and 'new ntm' it's all the same, just new names, positions & different faces.

We have made many comments to that effect
Earlier on this site.
And we know of instances
Of more recent abuse of this nature.
We have remarked that there is nothing "new"
About ntm.
It continues on---same old, same old.
And more people are hurt.
Just sorry that one case is you and your family!

I think we can make mistakes backward and forward this way. Of my "old-day's friends" it was too easy to think that they wouldn't understand my situation, that they would be disappointed, condemnatory. As if they wouldn't have had trials of their own . . .and changes in their way of thinking, believing.

That's been one very cool side effect of this forum. I feel more connected with other MKs, missionaries, ex-everything, then I have since the day I graduated from Via. It's a more "grown-up" view of each other.

Since I am not attending church, I sometimes underestimate the ferocity with which "true believers" feel and therefore debate on subjects that are so far off my radar. I'm truly sorrowful that NTM continues with such abusive practices.

But now we know. And knowing, must act. Whether we like it or not, we are a bridge. Because no one else is checking up on them. Well, I hope ICE is . . .

What Gary Earl did, to pick just one recent example, was horrible. There is justifiable and much-needed clamoring for his termination from NTM. But, he was not the only person who knew what he did. Why did these people remain silent?

Leadership abuse?

I think someone else has pointed out here that this particular aspect of NTM corporate culture is very important... because it helped create the climate in which child abuse could occur with such impunity.
