Thank you so much, I do feel better now, knowing that the process to justice is going forward. Miracles have happened and are happening in individual lives, and in organizations. We do have a hope and a future. A future without defensiveness, poverty, grief.

If you don't feel the way I do, that's ok :) My husband says it scares him when I get too negative, that I'm the yin to his yang.

If any of you are driving through PA this summer, PM me--my brother, SIL, and I would love to have you over for a picnic/campfire. Just don't expect ramrod perfect kids!

Just re-posted Bev ST's comments so you can have your list of questions ready.....
......when you talk to Pat.
Or has anybody already asked?
Or don't you think it's important anymore?
Why?
Keep a balance here! :)
Be smart.

The Independent Historical Abuse Review Team (IHART) has named its first investigative team. Its task will be to investigate historic reports of child abuse at NTM’s school at Vianopolis, Brazil. The team had its first meeting May 13, 2011. It will meet again the week of May 23 and will begin contacting survivors the week of June 1.
The team members are:
• Randy Coffman – Investigations captain, Andover Police Department, Andover, Kansas. She is also a nurse and paramedic. As a forensic nurse she has been a sexual assault nurse examiner for 15 years. Randy has said that nursing led her to become a paramedic, which led to law enforcement, and it was when she was investigating mostly sexual abuse and child sexual abuse cases that she felt she had found her “calling.” As an investigator one of her main concerns is to determine the truth of what happened.
• Jim Richter – Global security director for Team Expansion (an international missionary agency), Louisville, Kentucky. He is a former policeman. As security director he directs and handles all investigatory matters, including adult and child sexual abuse cases, for the agency worldwide. Jim has experience in training investigators and investigating current and historical sexual abuse cases.
• Robert Davis – Safety and security person for the Kroc Salvation Army Community Center, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He is a 35-year veteran with the FBI and has extensive experience as forensic child interviewer and a master investigator. Robert supervised FBI operations in all of North Idaho. He worked cases on the Indian reservations which included child abuse cases.
• Richard Ramirez – - Director of corporate security, SEND International, Farmington, Michigan. He is a retired US Postal Inspector with extensive investigative and supervisory experience in abuse and child pornography investigations. During his 32-year law enforcement career he has served with the FBI and as a police detective. Rich also has experience training investigators and investigating child abuse cases, current and historical, for sending mission agencies.
Richard Ramirez is the lead investigator. If you have inquiries or information for the investigative team, contact Mr. Ramirez at rramirez@send.org or 248-477-4210, extension 111.
Questions or comments about the independent investigations should be sent to Pat Hendrix at pat.mkguardian@gmail.com

Thanks very much for posting this, dbarney.

This is very helpful information.

Praying for this team, and for all the Vianapolis MKs and their loved ones.

Raz

Do all those people belong to Scott Ross' org?

I received this email from a friend, and decided to post it here, just in case anyone feels like asking these questions.

"I am quite positive that the members of this group of investigators are all a part of CSPN,
the group that Scott Ross founded and the last I heard he is still a key
player on their leadership team. (Scott Ross was a criminal defense lawyer and a City Attorney
before joining NTM. His professional standing and experience which should have
made him ideal for the job of investigator - but it meant nothing.)

These are some questions to ask the professionals from other mission
agencies that are on the current team:

Have you done any investigations within your own agency, if so what was
the outcome of each? Was the allegation(s) determined to be true? What
happened to each of the perpetrators? Were all the children and their
families who had contact with the perpetrator(s) informed that a staff member was a pedophile?

What follow-up was done regarding informing communities that the perpetrator returned to in North America?

On average, how much does your mission agency spend on therapy for each victim and for their families?"
