Welcome, Jane Doe. So glad you are here. There aren't many of us PNG MKs on here. I agree, so many talk positively of certain dorm parents/teachers, and I know of others were abused by those same people. It's hard to stomach that. But I guess I just have to be glad that those people have good memories and were spared from knowing the full story. Are you aware of the PNG MK facebook page (for PNG MKs only)? We've had some recent discussions on there. You should join us. It helps to know we are not alone in what we experienced. I agree with you on the guilt issues too. I've only just realized in the last few months how I've felt guilty all my life for things that happened in the dorms that were not my fault at all.

I am not aware of the PNG MK facebook page. What kind of discussions? I'll be honest with you, I have no desire to be in a discussion where I have to defend how I feel or deal with what has happened to me. To each his/her own. I respect peoples opinions on topics and am pretty open to listening to other points of view but I was on the old graduates forum and it was a disaster. They had a private forum where victims of abuse could share stories, little did I know there were members of the NTM leadership team on there reading the post!
But I wouldn't mind checking out the facebook page.

This PNG fb page was made closed to PNG MKs only, so that helps with having a little more freedom to share without worrying about who is reading it. Only members can read it. Of course, there may be PNG MKs who are also NTM leadership on there??? Or people may get in there saying they are PNG MKs... who knows. Abuse has been spoken of pretty freely under one of the posts. I'll send you a link. You will have to send a request to join, or a member can add you. It's only been going for a couple months. I remember the former PNG website/forum too, where anyone could join. Anyway, I'll PM you with the link.

Jane Doe.... I almost had to laugh when you said that you "stay away from other MKs" to all of us MKs. Welcome to the forum, we hope to hear from you again. It is a great help to know that there are others out there that suffered the same as us.

Laugh away! Actually this is a huge step for me even posting on here. I am quite proud of myself
I've been reading posts for about 6 months and have just now gotten up the courage to start posting. One more step in the healing process I think. Being open about what happened to me and reaching out to others is huge! My therapist will be very happy.

hi, Jane Doe, just to let you know (and you may already know this), this forum is open to the public, so it´s possible that anyone who wants to can read what´s written. I REALLY hope that doesn´t make you shut up, just don´t want you to find out later and feel exposed. A lot of people here don´t make a big deal about keeping their identities secret, others feel safer if they do - so it´s your call.
