It just sounds stiff and rehearsed and not real.
If it were real, wouldn't there have been genuine repentance by now?

I am reading Wes Stafford's book: Too Small To Ignore.
So many had recommended it.
It is unique among survivor reports.
Not that ANY of them are not important.
They ALL are very important.

Even tho I am not at the end yet,
I skipped to the Afterword to
read the end of his story.
That is where he explains what the
retreat was that Mamou had with
C&MA (I think)
It was Very Important and Pivotal
to those Mamou MKs.
But that does not mean that any old retreat
that is required would have this significance.

Thoughts?

Yes, I do believe the idea for a Repentance Retreat came from the Mamou investigation and response.

That recommendation from GRACE to NTM came almost five years ago.

It is too late now.

There is nothing NTM can say or do -- absolutely NOTHING! -- that will erase the damage done in the past five years.

The dodging, blame shifting, responsibility avoiding, the reliance on attorneys to save the mission instead of reliance on God, the lack of repentance, contrition, admission, transparency, the intransigence, the word-playing, the underhanded deceit and manipulation, all while claiming to care about children, and proclaiming to know and understand the heart of Jesus ....

Five years of this. Yes, five years. I have been watching. I have been keeping track.

There is nothing that can be said or done at any sort of retreat or meeting or gathering that will undo what has been done.

NOTHING.
