Raz you have done a wonderful job of looking at the probabilities of interpretation. It is very sad that there are loop holes that can be used to protect those who abuse and those who cover up for the.

I began to post this elsewhere, I wonder why aren't the current missionaries engaged in this issue? Why are they not demanding answers of their leaders? Why is their no accountability for the guys in Sanford? Wake Up Tribers! I clearly remember a poster from childhood at the training centers. The poster had a man standing at the edge of a deep chasm. This man had a Bible in one hand and a pair of scissors in the other. The words coming from the man said "I'm not called ", I've got family ", "Not enough education " etc. As he is saying these things, he has cut a rope with Indians on it that were trying to climb out and now they are falling back into the chasm(hell) . The point was he was making excuses for not being engaged. My question to those of you in NTM is how do you ease your conscience? What Lies do you tell yourself to avoid being engaged? Why do you think there is anger and hurt being expressed? Are we bored? Maybe Satan is trying to destroy NTM? That is bullshit, not dealing with criminal activity is Satan's playground, and anyone that plays legal games is doing Satan's work. Maybe you can keep believing that all of this is unfounded and accept the easy answer that this really is no big deal. I think if you are a current member and you have been in NTM over 10 years and have not gotten serious about how this issue is being dealt with and how your support is funding this, than you are a spineless coward. You hold accountability for your leadership in your hands like a pair of scissors and no regard for those affected by NTM. This was the culture no matter how you wiggle and squirm,and it was wrong then and now. Stop playing games with us, it is offensive Why do you go to the ends of the Earth for people you don't know but are unwilling to accept and help those who have been devastated by "Wolves in sheep's clothing?" you can spiritualize with your arrogant words and heart about how everyone needs to forgive and move on. That's like telling a soldier who has stepped on a landmine to ignore the fact he has no legs and pick up his rifle and get back into formation.

How much more evidence do you really need? Leaders, do you need to actually see a dormparent in the act of fondling a little girl in order to do what is right? Is that what it takes? Another thought concerning the subtle but significant altering of IHART from Independent Historical Abuse Review Team to Independent Historical Allegations Review Team: It has been pointed out to me that when an investigation is opened into an allegation, the responsibility of the investigators is only to prove or disprove a specific allegation brought against a certain person by a particular individual. In the case of an abuse investigation, however, the investigation broadly searches for all who believe they have been abused, and it would be the responsibility of the investigators to pursue those leads wherever that information would take them. This change in the IHART name could be a deliberate move to avoid expanding an investigation to include additional incidents or perpetrators not initially named in an allegation. Some very significant food for serious thought.

.... The investigators are hired by the coordinator, and work independently from the mission .... (in other words, they are paid for their work.)

After the available information is gathered, each witness is interviewed by at least two investigators at the convenience of the persons being interviewed. When feasible, IHART investigators interview in person anyone who alleges abuse, and those who are accused. Those interviews may take place in multiple countries and involve extensive travel. Reviewing the interviews and documents and creating reports is also time-consuming.
