We received a response: September 5, 2014 Dear Panama MK Representatives, Thank you for your well thought out letter regarding the IHART process and the resulting reports. We appreciate the time and effort that went into clearly stating your concerns and do want to communicate on these issues. The subjects you have outlined have been discussed on many occasions by the Board, child advocates and legal teams to come up with what we believe to be a balanced approach to the investigations and reporting the results. Would it be possible to have three or four of our team sit down with three or four of the group you represent to discuss the points of your letter? While we feel confident with our process, it has been dynamic and evolving over the months and years, and will continue to be, so new thoughts and ideas are welcome. If a meeting is possible, could you please let us know who and how many your group represents? We want to be able to address the specific issues of the ones represented at the table. It would also be important to set parameters for the meeting. The goal would be for everyone attending to be able to openly and honestly share their hearts and ideas with the plan that a joint statement would be produced regarding the outcomes of the meeting. We would be willing to pay for the night needed at a hotel and meals during that day. Travel expenses would need to be covered by all individuals attending. Hopefully a meeting will be possible since these are important issues. If you feel a meeting would be too difficult because of time and cost involved, we would be happy to attempt to answer in writing. Unfortunately, the written word often does not convey the heart and can be misconstrued. Responses to this letter can be sent to Brian_Coombs@ntm.org who will be coordinating and responding on behalf of the NTM USA EB. Respectfully, NTM USA Executive Board
