Totally off base? Why that just makes me smile, Allbetter.

I am quite certain there is no "base" on Fanda Eagles.

I have spent an unbelievable amount of time reading and posting on this site since the day I became a member, on June 23, 2010.

During the years since then, a huge number of people have left their mark here. Some of us have posted thousands of times. Some only once or twice. I don't think anyone has made themselves captain of the team, nor has anyone set up any bases or stipulated specific rules of the game.

We have heard from sad people, angry people, broken people, fixer people, confidently religious people, and agnostics and atheists. People who defend New Tribes Mission, and people who hate it. People who think we aren't doing enough, and people who think we have gone too far. We've had posters who had all their posts removed, and one famous unknown genius who shut down the entire NTM website for a short time.

I'd like to think we're pretty open. Open to reading what you write as you think and process. Open to accept, open to support.

I don't think many of us will be critiquing or correcting, preaching or admonishing.

Bases? No bases. Goals? Not sure those are even very well defined. Some of us have played pretty much every inning in the past four years. Some have taken time outs, long breaks, some have even returned under new names to keep on playing.

I am grateful for every voice. Every word that has ever been written here holds a place of value in my heart. I am forever changed because of this site and because of these people.

That includes you, Allbetter. Write. Or don't write. Whatever you write, we will read. And the things you don't write? Well, we care about those too.

We care very much.

Thanks once again, Raz. Gave me kind of a weird feeling, that freedom to write, Carte Blanche. Never had that before. My earliest writing experiences were prayer letters. At Via, seniors spent a lot of time picking the topic of their first 10 page term paper. One of the short term teachers expressed surprise that all of us chose to write about biblical concepts. We were "allowed" to write about anything, as long as it got approved.

But now I'm suspicious. Is this just a set-up?

Open hands.

Open minds.

Open hearts.

You know what, Allbetter?
It's YOUR life and they are YOUR experiences.
YOU own them.
No one else does.
So if you want to write or don't want to------
YOUR choice.
And you KNOW no one is going to pick you apart here
You'll hear only cheers
And maybe sobs……..

Hmm, if I'm allowed to write, does that mean I'm allowed to speak? Like, up front ?
