I guess you missed the part where MNTB/NTM said that it was not their responsibility for what Scott did on his own time, when he was in Indian villages, doing work for them.

Funny.

But so NOT funny.

So by this reasoning, if an NTM member on a weekend off an NTM base, comes across an accident and heroically rushes in and saves several lives. NTM would then issue a statement saying "Yes they were a hero, but they were not a member of NTM at the time, so we cannot accept any of the credit for their heroism".

Somehow I doubt that would ever happen, which illustrates how stupid this is.

Because in this case they probably aren't.

When you know something terrible, and don't want people to know, but then they find out, and it feels a little better ? ?

I guess relief? But still great shame?

It's how I feel after reading the Brazilian account of Scott Kennell. I'm so glad that they know. I'm so ashamed that he was an MK. I'm ashamed that he was with NTM. I'm ashamed that he called himself a Christian. And is an American.

Im so glad that there are people who take this seriously. And listen. Proud that this is making a difference.

How about that feeling when you feel responsible and want to do something to help, but then can't? But then find out someone else is concerned and working on it? I like that feeling. Just to know that someone has tried to find the victims makes me feel better.

If anyone has any information about the victims, or Kennell, please consider sharing.

It is probably safe to assume that life is over for Scott Kennell. He has 58 years to think, reflect and ponder what he has done.

He has been wiped from NTM records and that will probably be the end of him as far as NTM is concerned.

He leaves behind questions of how on earth he managed to go from being an MK to being a convicted felon and the big question of how many others who had similar threads in their life, are heading down journeys that are dysfunctional or worse. Uncomfortable questions, but when one sees the mess that an NTM childhood has had on so many lives, it is one that should be asked.

As for his victims. Shame on those who were very quick to distance themselves from Scott Kennells crimes, they washed their hands of innocent children and deserve to be punished for this.

I'm glad, Raz. After that clip that was on TV, have you heard anything else about Emory? Have to admit, when I pass a mobile home community that looks like his shown on the news, I shudder a bit.

Yes, I shudder too, because in spite of Les' confession that he molested children in the Philippines, he is still walking the streets (and trailer park) a free man.

And it wasn't for lack of trying. We worked so very hard to get a different outcome.

MKs, when NTM assures you that your abuser has been reported to law enforcement, don't assume that your perp will soon be behind bars. Most of the crimes we have discussed here on Fanda Eagles were committed years ago and far away. Laws making crimes against children overseas illegal in the US were not yet in place, so there are some very real limitations on what can presently be done in the US court system.

This, in my opinion, makes it even more imperative that NTM do the right thing by the hundreds of adult survivors of child abuse who are asking to be heard. Don't hide behind the excuse that you've turned things over to the legal authorities. That does not in any way insure that justice will actually be done.

There ARE things YOU could be doing, NTM.

And you're not doing them.
