mk chame - aka not at all a bad girl is not gettin much help from Tibby... so anyone that feels the urge - get in touch with 'Madonna' and give her some encouragement etc
her body is fighting against her as you all know from her previous posts and this will not do in the long run... I am sure that I am not the only one wanting her to live to a ripe old age!

IHART Progress Report
June, 2013
The Vianopolis, Brazil investigation began in May, 2011, The Bolivia and Panama investigations began in January, 2012. Following is an update on each investigation.
Brazil:
The scope of the investigation covers the fall of 1983 – summer of 1993. The investigation has ended and the team is busy writing the report and tying up loose ends.
The Recommendations Panel has been selected – more on them as we get closer to their meeting.

Bolivia:

The scope of the investigation covers 1952 – 2004 when the school was closed. The investigators have revised their student list to 1023 student names to attempt contact, which includes some parents of MKs and staff as possible witnesses/survivors. This does not include other adult staff members. Of the 1023 names: 12 are believed deceased and 96 have been interviewed and 18 have declined interview or stated they have no information to share regarding abuse.
Panama:
- Pii is currently transitioning to the 3rd and 4th phases of the investigation. Phases One and Two include a thorough document review, interviews with victims, witnesses, and any additional research necessary to move to the final phases of the case. Phase Three includes interviewing the alleged perpetrators; Phase 4 is the writing of the final report.
- Currently we are scheduling interviews with alleged perpetrators to begin in the month of June. There are a few remaining witnesses to interview, which will largely be conducted via conference call. The writing of the final report is well underway and will be completed upon the interviews of alleged perpetrators.
-Pii is currently over 75% complete in Phase 1, 90% complete in Phase 2, just beginning Phase 3, and roughly 40% complete with Phase 4.
-We project the completion of the investigation to be on schedule.

This is NTM's new policy about releasing the reports from the investigations via Pat Hendrix.

"The length of time that this whole investigative process is taking has been difficult for all involved. NTM is grateful for the many hours each investigator has dedicated toward learning the painful truths and ensuring that the offenders are identified once and for all. We are especially grateful to those MKs who have come forward to tell their experiences.

In sharing the results of this process, we will, as agreed be following the Best Practice Standards of the Child Protection and Safety Network and be seeking to balance transparency with the assurance of MK confidentiality. While we are striving for transparency, some information is only appropriate to be shared with the survivors and law enforcement. Survivors will receive confirmation of their abuse and the specifics related to their testimony. They will also receive the independent panel's specific recommendations for the offender in their case, and NTM's subsequent actions related to those recommendations.

When the NTM Executive Board commissioned IHART to investigate historical allegations of abuse, it was determined that confidences of survivors, regardless of how many or how few, must be protected both during the investigation phase and the reporting phase. Whatever the outcomes on any report, the confidentiality of the survivors will be protected.

The goals for those independent reviews of historical allegations of abuse remain unchanged. We desire that investigators here from any MK who wishes to tell their story and that the confidentiality of those who step forward be protected. We also want to confirm that all abusers have been identified and reported. Our intention is to do everything possible to ensure that no child abuser remains in our midst, that we make help readily available to any survivor who desires it, and that we have taken any and all steps necessary to make sure that our organization is as safe as possible for all families."

I would say, the one being most well protected is: New Tribes Mission.
