I'm looking around NTM's website. Not seeing the 1496 number that AnotherMK mentioned. If you look specifically on the list of missionaries, it says 1517 missionaries. That appears to include non-US missionaries. I looked up a few that I know from Canada and Great Britain, and they can be found there, so I guess they are part of that number.

On the front page of the "Missionaries" section, it states, "More than 2,500 missionaries serve around the world..." That is about a thousand more than 1517! I have no idea how that number is reached. Even if you added the Brazilian, Columbian and Filipino nationals, the Aussies who claim they aren't New Tribes any longer ... I don't know ... maybe it includes the tribal people who travel to other villages as missionaries, teaching the chronological lessons? They are missionaries too.

The numbers seem confusing, and possibly inflated. But we will never get a straight answer on this from anyone within NTM.

At any rate, I no longer see the number 3,000 that we used to see.

Oh, look! There are some lifeboats easing away from the Titanic .... and I see quite a few people crowded into them ...

Maybe the captain needs to do another head count and let us know for sure how many of the faithful are still on board.

These are dark days upon the waters
And faith is a scary leap

Champagne at the ready, almost at 3 million.

Not a bad achievement for a ragtag motely crew of "bitter spirited" MKs, some of who don't even spit Englosh properly .

My humble opinion: Truth and a sense of humor are hard opponents to beat, especially when lubricated with genuine tears for a past lost and encouraged by a hope of a brighter future by being able to express ourselves freely amongst new found friends who understand because they have been there to.

So a toast to us and all MKs worldwide. May the tears be replaced with hope and laughter, so that we may all truly live again after so long just existing.
