I remember as a ten year old arriving in boot camp in Australia and thinking why are these people subjecting themselves to this. We'd gone from a nice middle class suburban environment to a complete dump. Oh the staff lived in nice places, but the student families were crammed into little hovels. There was no water, no toilets, the walls didn't even reach the ceiling. Then there were the raids, where the staff would go through students houses looking for "illegal" reading material. People left, but they were labeled "quiters" and were not as dedicated to the cause as those who stayed. I just couldn't get into the group think and it was beyond me why my parents stuck with it. But they did, as did many others. And soon enough they were spouting the same mantras and doing what had been done to break them, to the next lot of suckers who arrived. And of course they were taught that they had to break their kids wills, by whatever means possible, all of course to be more like Him. Total rubbish, but it seemed as though I was the only one who could see that this was some sort of weird cultish group. It carried on, on the field. No one dared question the wisdom of the leaders and to quit was to be a total failure. And while the majority were to busy trying to tow the line, the paedophiles were expoiting the environment for all they were worth. All as they had to do was utter the right mantras and no one would believe what they were really up to. And there were paedophiles everywhere, only the tip of the iceberg has been uncovered is my suspicion, because far to many are still to loyal to the cause or their old friends or families that their family has married into. And still the old mantras are coming out, "you are ruining someones ministry" or "the incidence of sexual offending is lower than what it is in normal U.S. society". Both of which can be negated with the simple fact, sexual abuse of a child is a serious crime, so is beating them. But the gullible want to believe this nonsense, because it suits them to keep pandoras box from being thrown open and seeing this for what it really is.
Years latter in the 90's my parents received a letter from NTM Australia, which had come from Sanford, admitting they had taken much of their training techniques from U.S. military manuals. Techniques that turn men into machines that will blindly follow orders so that on the battlefield they are reliable. Techniques not designed for innocent kids. Of course my parents tried to stop me finding out about that letter, because the last thing they wanted was to have to admit that all those years I was pretty spot on. So they choose to cover up for a mission that had torn our family apart, stolen their home, lied about a jailed paedophile and then spat them out. But why?????
My mother was sucked in, she was broken and did what she was told. My father is a completely different kettle of fish, he was busy shouting "yes take me, because this is the sort of power I want" and he sold his own family for 40 pieces of silver and his own ego.
NTM is a cult!!!!!
