There are a couple of new posts on the NTM website under Historic Abuse Investigations.

Pat Hendrix, coordinator of IHART (Independent Abuse Response Team) recently submitted a report to the Executive Board regarding the on-going historical abuse investigation process.
Brazil: The scope of the investigation covers the fall of 1983 to the summer of 1993. At this time, nearly all individuals who have expressed a desire to provide information concerning abuse at the NTM Boarding School in Brazil have been contacted and interviewed. A few more interviews are needed to corroborate information already obtained. The review, analysis and consolidation of information is ongoing and individuals requiring interviews continue to be identified. The interviews continue and those remaining will be conducted and completed in February 2013. As various aspects of the investigation are completed, portions of the statement of findings are being completed. It is anticipated that the investigation will be completed in March 2013.
Panama: The scope of the investigation runs from 1962 – 2006. The investigative team is doing everything they can to be finished by mid to late summer 2013.
Tambo: The scope of the investigation covers 1959 – 2004 when the school run by NTM was closed. With the scope of this investigation, we expect this investigation to last two to three more years.
IHART continues to interview possible investigators. We are tentatively scheduling an orientation to take place in the next two to three months.
I think it is important, for all of us waiting to see some results, to note that this statement says that the Brazil
investigation is anticipated to be completed in March. It is my observation that this is quite a different statement than the one we received a couple of weeks ago, which said, "It is anticipated that the investigation will be completed, and a final Statement of Findings submitted in March 2013.".
NTM is now clarifying that what they hope will be completed in March is the investigation: that is, the gathering of the facts, through interviews and other research. It is unrealistic for us to expect to see some type of document about the findings in March.
I think there will be several more steps before any report is released. I have been told there will still be a Recommendations Panel assembled to go over the initial report from the IHART team. It's all still fuzzy to me, how this is supposed to work, but I just wanted to prepare those of us waiting: I don't think anyone of us will be seeing any sort of a Statement of Findings next month.
Keep your seat belts fastened. This is still a long and bumpy ride.
