I have said over and over, the churches(which represent people) really don't care. They trust these mission boards/agencies to the full extent. They believe however they handle/handled a situation was right. Full stop.

Donor abuse too??????

Well mosquito bite, I didn't think of it that way but it sure sounds like it. I would like to share what I know about some churches but guess that is not for me to do. I repeat myself, churches (which are people) trust mission boards/agencies all the way. At the end of the day I think they see missionaries as dispensable but the mission board/agency as God's will. Full stop.

Donor misuse might be a more applicable term, for those who are able to say "no" but don't. It is the same technique that a clever salesperson uses, but with a spiritual guilt component. If however the donor is not of cognitive ability to make sound judgement, i.e. they are elderly, this would be viewed as abuse.
This is not an uncommon scenario and relatives of elderly donors are not happy to find that what they were assuming they would be inheriting in the will of the recently departed saint, has long ago been siphoned off into the pockets of someone else.
If you are caught doing this as a member of the health profession, you are struck off and will face criminal charges, namely because it is classified as an abuse of trust of someone who is cognitively dependent on others.

Hmmm. Interesting comments. I think its mostly fear. The fear is that if they accept one "thing/situation" as abuse then what is hiding under the next stone, and the next stone and the next..... I think the great unspoken fear is of a great deluge of evidence. The dam just might burst if one weak point is exposed so best not look too close.

Some I know of, rail against the Catholic Church as its pandoras box of sins has been well and truly opened. The fear is that if they look closely enough at the evidence it might happen to "their Church / denomination / mission group they support".

Its seems the criminal injustice of child abuse is just not enough to get past the fear - except for the few brave ones who are listening and perhaps hope to affect change from the inside. Not sure they can - but who am I to judge.

Eventually the dam will burst and those in front of it covering up the multitude of weak points risk being washed away in the aftermath.
