The Good Ship NTM Titanic is in trouble, it has hit an enormous child abuse iceberg and the damage reports aren't good.

What we good passengers would like to know before we hop into the IHART lifeboat, is are all the lifejackets the same? Or are there some really good ones for crew, some pretty good ones for passengers and some "made in Australia, this is a childs toy, do not use as a floatation device" ones for foreign passengers?

Dear Captain, Sorry about your boat, but the band is playing "We welcome you" possibly for the last time and it is time for me to consider my options. What life jacket are you going to give me?

After 5 hours of going over very painful memories, I am so thankful for the investigative team that came to my home. I was determined to be strong and hold myself together and found myself weakened by being able to finally put the voices with compassionate faces. Very patient as I gathered my thoughts and composure, they never rushed me. For them, I am thankful. It is worth it.

Thanks for that good report, dbarney. It's encouraging to hear from someone who has just walked through that part of this long journey.

I found the process to be good for me and just felt relieved when it was over. Not relieved that it was over, but relieved that I had been heard, and affirmed that what went on was not okay.

My abuse was not sexual but was emotional,mental and spiritual. I know of many who were physically abused by my main abuser. Why he didn't lay a hand on me I don't know but what he did was sick enough.

The investigative team -I talked to two women and one man- was very compassionate.

Thanks, Panama MK. It's good for the rest of us to hear this.

This particular team has more of a female presence, and compassionate is a word I have heard before to describe them.

April 2012 Report – Panama School Investigation

May 2, 2012
The investigation began January 26, 2012 and is proceeding in the first of four phases. The sequence of events has been first to locate and interview as many of the former students of the Panama schools at Chepo and Chame as possible. Investigation on this phase is well underway and information provided by NTM indicates that there are approximately 295 former students of the schools. Phase One breaks down as follows:
- 57 interviews have been conducted
-Contact has been made with and interviews scheduled for 17 more individuals
-18 individuals have been contacted, have consented to be interviewed, but have yet to be scheduled
-Contact has been initiated with 22 more individuals who have yet to respond
-0 individuals have declined interview and gave no information
Phase Two will be to interview former school administrators and faculty, dorm parents, field committee and school committee members. Phase Three will be to interview alleged perpetrators. Phase Four will be the report writing phase.

April 2012 Report – Tambo Investigation

The investigation began in January 2012 and is well under way. The team met in February in Detroit for additional training. There has been an additional investigator added to the team – Linda Vitale, an experienced law officer and investigator.
The team has completed 11 interviews and has five more scheduled for this week.

April 2012 Report – Vianapolis Investigation
The investigation began in May, 2011. The team has interviewed approximately 60 survivors. The team has two more interviews to arrange – all other survivor interviews will be completed by May 20th. Everyone (survivors) who has contacted the team will have been interviewed face to face. The team will then interview parents and follow-up with leadership interviews and then alleged perpetrators. The final step will be to write the report.
