I very much doubt anyone will care, Bemused.

We are a pain in the backside for NTM, we are costing them money and embarrassing them and that is what we are seen as, an unneccessary expense and embarrassment. We are not seen as humans who were children in their care, who had the very life kicked out of them.

Bemused, when the dust is settled and a fair and final settlement is reached with MKs, you and me and every other Downunder MK will have our noses pressed to the glass looking in at the party going on inside, just like we did all those years ago. No matter how good we are, how much we beg, who we help on the way, there won't be room for us at the party and nothing will have changed, history will have repeated itself yet again.

Sorry Bemused and Radioshack, that's just how NTM operates and I doubt anything will change.

I SO agree Sister! Unfortunately from Brian Short....... 's letter I can see a big kick in the guts coming for those of us downunder and fellow American eagles. Our fellow American Eagles have the option of filing for court unlike those of us scattered all over the earth.

Jim Given chose his victims for that reason....from.. Australia, New Zealand and Canada....that and because he considered us to be lesser beings and easy targets.

Aussie, I wonder what 60 minutes Australia would make of a American pedophile who specifically preyed on non - American children and an American organization that shuffled him off to Africa?

I for one won't be telling my story to NTM as this latest letter from them confirms that they are going to do squat about the pedophiles or their negligence in the well known NTM game of the century "SHUFFLE THAT PEDOPHILE"

Bemused, what Investigative Current affairs programs have you got down your way on that little island?

Lets just stay I believe in the carrot and stick approach. Today I'm running very low on carrots and the next shipment isn't on the horizon .

Who needs carrots? I'm all for the stick approach at this point in time.

Makes my blood boil to see how children from missionary families from "foreign" countries were treated. This is nothing but disgusting and surely something can be done. I don't have any answers only lots of questions but most people hate pedophilia. I have to exclude those who cover up for it in this last statement. This abhorrence to pedophilia should make this whole sin saga so easy. I just don't get it! Full stop.

I understand that there is a great deal of anger and bitterness about so many facets of the abuse and subsequent tragic mishandlings of the fallout. But to me it seems as if people on this site are actually hoping for these investigations to fail. Self perpetuating cynicism is arguably a problem very evidently displayed on this forum. Believing that you will surely get 'stiffed' from the investigation will cause you to only examine the (perceived) negatives and be blind to every positive. Sidenote- saying you are unwilling to be involved in the investigation and then getting upset about the outcome is akin to those who never vote then complain about the government. Your argument doesnt give you a leg to stand on. If history has taught us anything - wouldn't you want these investigations to be handled properly? That takes time, effort, money, etc. Dont we want this to be done the right way? I honestly can not even fathom the effects that abuse has on a person- so justifiably you may say I have no right to post on here. Fair enough. But - If you place the sins and crimes of the past on people who are currently trying to right the wrongs- then your righteous anger is sorely misplaced.

It is too late now, but this is what I wish:

I wish NTM, Pat Hendrix and IHART would have focused their full attention on ONE school, and gone through the entire process speedily all the way to the finish with it before starting on the others, to demonstrate how all the steps would go, and what the end result would be.

This is what happened with GRACE and the Fanda investigation. The detailed report -- which the rest of us read -- was very thorough, and the recommendations were significant enough that we could see GRACE's integrity, sincerity and compassion for abuse victims clearly. This engendered a trust in GRACE, even on the part of those of us who had at that time had no communication with them yet. It is why we wanted GRACE to conduct the investigations for the rest of us.

I reserve the right to be skeptical.

I am NOT hoping for the investigations to fail. It just feels like we are waiting a long, long time to see proof that they will succeed.

Hey raz - some questions

1) Why don't you like them focusing on many schools at once? What one school would you rather them focus on?

2) Do you not believe in pat's sincerity and compassion for the abused?

I beleive your skepticism is justifiable - I'm sorry you have been waiting so long.
